Default panhard vs. limiting i guess idk

ok so i have a cms with 4link and at full left it will raise the chassis some and i have read that a panhard will bind the 4link. so my plan is some limiting straps as my axle doesnt shift from side to side how does that sound

Traditionally limiting straps are to limit suspension travel, not to limit lateral movement of the axle. Why not just do panhard and remove an upper link?

i used the axial 4link bar on the front, just cut it down so the panhard bar doesnt hit it, and then made my own panhard link to fit over the 4link.

yeah panhard will fix your problem. limit straps will not.

You can run a pan hard with the scx10 4-link setup, but it does't work properly. You have to have all 4-links parallel to the chassis. The triangulated link setup is designed to eliminate lateral movement. The panhard is there to create lateral movement to keep the correct distance from the servo arm to the steering arm. If you use a panhard with triangulated 4-links, it will bind. The least invasive is to remove the right upper link and install a pan hard bar in equal length and parallel to the steering link. With this setup, you still get a slight axle deflection, but avoid link binding. This is fine at lower speeds, but if your running a faster setup, you can calculate the deflection angle, and change the angle of the pan hard bar to create counter steer.
