| JK Build and slight mods. Also "FLEX SEAL"
Yeah... another JK Kit thread. I modded the front cross support with a dremel to allow free moving servo horn. I also added a Foam Block in front of the battery to prevent Battery Jump when nose diving down a cliff. Works great on my Honcho. The Black on the back of the outside roof is "Flex Seal" from Wallyworld. I undercoated the roof with black backing, so if it does scratch off, it will still be black. Never used it on R/C applications, but am going to experiment with other parts, pieces, and whatever. Last edited by Sbott1; 03-23-2013 at 08:22 AM. |

Looks really good. Great color! It will be interesting to see how that stuff holds up. Plus you can put a screen door in the bottom of your boat with that stuff |

Thanks Guys. Its the Pactra brand. And I haven't made a boat out of the stuff yet, but its pretty durable. I tried it on some scrap lexan first... just to make sure it didn't "Melt it" or any other undesirable results or mishaps. It was pretty easy to do. Comes out of the can THICK though... so I had to do a light coat. I also only did 3 layers of the orange before the black backing, I should have done at least one more or maybe 5 coats of the orange. Oh well. Next body next time. |

After a few mods / upgrades... I ran this hard. Held up great. The "Flex Seal" held up extremely well. No body cracks or damage. I put on the VP Lightbar... and you can see the scratches on it...it takes a beating...with no issues. I hard wired it on the battery plug, opposite side of my BEC. Works great. I also added the YEAH Racing light set and the Dinky R/C Grill / Tail Light kit. (Thanks Harley for the build thread and your screw set). Have the transmission mirrored and added Over / Underdrive. Pretty happy, but still need to find a better way of managing all the wires. I use a ton of Zipties / Velcro strips. Enough rambling... here are some updated pix. |
