Default Whats the deal with mirroring the tranny?

What exactly does mirroring the transmission do?
I know it eliminates the torque twist. But is it really needed?
Im running a sidewinder sv3 / 4600kv motor in a scx10 dingo...
Should I do said reversal?

Does this save driveshafts?

Does this affect crawling or trailing?

I recently did the tranny mirror and like he said above it helps with the torque twist. With that torque twist, your right front wheel will want to come up a lot under throttle. I do not want my front tires coming up any more than they have to especially when I am sitting on a 60 degree or better incline and trying to make forward progress. Plus it gives you the excellent opportunity to throw some water resistant marine grease in there to make it more water resistant. Oh and it definitely helps a lot, I have noticed a big improvement . . . well worth the 45minutes to do the job in my opinion.

Also helps to place the weight of the motor up front and at the passenger side, the weight bias up front is beneficial. An easy trick to know if you're doing it right.. on the motor plate, the word "axial" should be facing in towards the trans rather than out.

Good points here and remember also you are going to have to flip you tranny/motor plate around. This is what took me the longest and was the most difficult in my opinion. Almost classify it as a B word...i dont know about swearing on this forum...

I don't understand what was so hard about this, I've done it several times and had no problems.

The flip vs mirrored confuses me. Could someone give me pictures of a before and after mirrored transmission? or even a after shot so I get an idea!

The pain for me is taking out the transmission mount and flipping it 180. All the screws and then having to take it out from between the frame rails...hard might have been a strong word...annoying or PIA might be better terminology? Would be better just to do it from the start during a kit build.
