Hey guys and gals,

I'm new to the forum, I just purchased the SCX-10 Rubicon (yes the RTR, because im a NOOB) and I have been running it non stop!! I love it, but today I may or may not have went.... well... Mudding and I was wondering what the most effective way to clean these things is! I really dont want to have to replace electronics on day 2 haha thanks in advance!!

Very careful use of a hose or sink sprayer. Keep the water pointed away from the electronics. I first dry with a towel followed by a hair dryer set on low.

Welcome to the forum.

I always let mine dry off and then run it down my gravel drive and the dirt falls off the wheels. The body i take off and wash in the sink. I play in a warehouse full of sawdust a lot and I use my air compressor with blow nozzle to clean the sawdust out of it. Which works great!

The most vulnerable place to get crap into and most impossible to clean without disassembly is inside of the axles. Before any more mud/water outings I'd plug all the unused holes on them. I use m3x5mm grub screws.

Uh oh... Next question, I think I killed it... So, I ripped it down to bare frame while removing largest pieces that I could (I.e. motor and tranny at once, or entire axle assembly) but when I put it all back together two things happened:

First: I couldn't remember the plug setup within the receiver :/

Second: got it back together with what seemed 100% correct and I turned the truck on and.... Well it just beeps at me and had a red light along with a green one.. And the receiver on the truck has a constant red light as well.

What have I done!!!

Go buy a stiff bristle parts washing brush then wait till dry then just brush off. Grease axles and tranny after DEEP water. works like a charm!

I like liquid wrench (brand) marine grease. I believe I got it at Lowes.

One tube of it will last you forever.

'Merica.. I'll be getting some of that very soon I don't like the creakiness lol I used gun lubrication as an "on the spot" correction to my mudding preparation negligence.

Only correction I would make here is BEFORE and AFTER deep water... And if all the holes are plugged and you have the marine grease in there, I am not too sure that you always have to check it after IMO.
