| Project: Will this ever be done?
So its been awhile since ive done anything with my scaler, last time i drove it was over a year ago in texas and during that run the esc went out. Brought it home and it sat and sat and i never got around to cleaning.. which was bad because i was running it in sand and water in texas... I finally got around to cleaning it a couple months ago, Started tearing it apart and there was rust everywhere and almost all the bearings were junk or sezied up. So ordered a Team Fast Eddy bearing kit for it, got everything cleaned up and put back together.. well almost and thats where i start this thread off. How it currently sits I started to make my own Chassis mount for the servo (Ignore the really long screw lol) Then i started to make fender wells out of styrene I also got an idea to be able to swap out esc's, servo's, etc.. without having to open the receiver box, But i didnt get a picture yet. So thats it for now, progress will be slow on this due to being in school and not having alot of money. Last edited by Unfadingpyro; 04-02-2013 at 07:17 PM. |

Looking like a good start of some fun! Just a possible suggestion - heat the styrene to form, otherwise the clamp method you are using will work for the inside where it is glued, but the outside edge will flare where it is not directly glued - the spring of the styrene wanting to return to flat that you are clamping and gluing has nothing to hold it on the outside edges so it will flare towards flat on those lines. Just 2c tossed as an idea. |

I've been coating just the boards in Spektrum recievers with marine epoxy with good results. All the connectors are exposed to the water (and they get soaked ) but no shorting troubles yet. Hope it works for you...

@Counrtyhandyman @chrisj4x4 Well im not to worried about the connectors, but if i do have a problem then i can always use liquid tape to seal those up @jaredcrawler185 Haha yeah i know how it goes, just when you think you have everything you need for it, somebody makes something else that you have to have. The most fun for me is just getting and installing upgrades, Hopefully i can get better with styrene so i can start making more cool stuff. |
