They're pretty, but worth all that money? Dunno. I can't imagine that they'd actually perform better than your average plastic axle. Over time they'd certainly outlast plastic but otherwise they're just bling, albeit just about the most awesome bling on the market.

weight would benefit, and the indestructible bling factor. but I'm happy with plastic myself.

never had much luck with trex60's, breaking axles, stripping spools.......never own another set, had better luck out of bone stock axial axles

The one thing that I really like about the VP housings is the easy access to the diff lockers, especially when you use the no slop lockers like the VP ones, or Highland Crawlers, GripLoks etc. =) I agree the plastic slides better, but these are definitely a nice item. |

I got the VP housing for my wraith and I don't really like them, plastic slides way better, and I can't ever see the reason for spending all that money for the housings again, when you first get the aluminum housings you just have to beat the crap out of them to round them off then they work alright

I have the vp housing in the rear of my custome truck, picked it for the matching front narrowed wraith, dont have to worry about stripping ou threads on the link mounts and lockouts. Was more cost effective when building the entire axle from scratch and wanting the beef. I know some will argue beef tubes, but, stoutness overall was why I got it.

oh yeah and on the trex 60's the pinion output where the drive shaft connects is drilled and flattened on each side so there's not much material there........twisted several of them to

I love my VP ar60 SCX-10 axles. They are treated me very very well and it has almost been a year. After several G6 tophy won with them, never breaking them or having any kind of problems with them event after event, I highly recommend them. I would suggest using them as much as you can because when the more they are worn down on the rocks the better they work, also make sure you loctite all screws that go to them and you're golden. Here are some pic to give you an idea what they look like on a Honcho. |

VP makes some pretty parts no doubt, although there are other pieces on the market that perform just as well for less money. For axles, the plastic works just fine, throw in some beef tubes, alloy c-hubs, knuckles, and upper mounts you've got a good near bulletproof setup.
