torque twist question
 
i have the super soft springs on axial alum shocks when i take off and stop my left front stays compressed is this torque twist or is something else going on

Sounds like another issue... normally torque twist will over-compress one of the rear shocks and cause the front tire on the opposite corner to come off the ground when applying forward throttle

k do you think my springs r to soft in the front or maybe i need to put oil in the shocks really stumped. the shocks don't come with oil in them r they supposed to. any response to this will be greatly appreciated.

I am running 40W on all 4s in my RTR Honcho with PL shocks. I have 3 Links in front and Rear. ( yes front and rear ) I had to try it and I like it.

I don't see much in TT. But you may want to vary your springs or other options as to what you want it to do.

My other rig only has 3 Link on the front. I run 40W in all of my shocks and like it.

It's only my opinion.

Yes, Axial aluminum shocks are designed to be run filled with oil.

If it is a symptom of torque twist, try adding a stiffer spring to the right rear... or possibly a thicker weight oil... or maybe try swapping out the internal piston for one with less or smaller holes.

If they're plastic Axial shocks, you should just upgrade. It would probably just be a waste of oil to fill them. You might try a few drops, just for lubrication, and see if that takes your "sticking" problem away. If not, you either have too light of springs or a spring that's just not holding anything anymore.

If it stays compressed this is nothing to do with oil. Although you should fill em. Oil is for dampening. Springs are for ride height. If it fails to return then either the spring is too soft or you have binding in the shock and it is not travelling properly. Did you file any notches off the piston head and ensure it move smoothly through the shock body? :)

the shock moves freely it will eventually go back to ride height after a min but the front end sags as well i don't mind a little bit of droop but might front shocks sit at about 50% of height all the time just ordered some different stiffness springs so well see how that works along with oil

i still have the stockers, but with about 75% full w/ 50wt all the way around, and axial blue "super stiff" 20mm springs in the front,. Seems to stay level and hold that heavy azz front end where it should be.

Note: staying off the roof has really helped my leaky shock issues:ror:

Wrong. Like said oil is for dampening. The sticking is Prolly from a bur on the piston. Sand burs off and fill with oil. No oil it will bounce and want to completely unload up hills and side hills.

sounds like you just need to do some tuning on your spring rates, inspect the internals of the shocks after the rebuild, and to fill your shocks with oil this time. there are many different spring rates for each brand of shock out there - playing with these will help get you to where your preference is at since every rig is different and drivers all have their preference for type of terrain being run. I would suggest either upping the pre-load on the front shocks and maybe even swapping to a medium rate to prop up that corner of your rig (medium is stock spring rate???) Below are the different spring options Axial offers to fine tune your shocks:

For torque twist you will notice the front, passenger side of the rig lift when accelerating. It's because of the torque and direction the pinions turn the ring gears in axle, causing it to "lift" the rig when they spin. All vehicles do this to some degree, ever watch a semi take off from a stop? Combat this by stiffening rear driver's side shock, or by adding weight over the front right (battery/electronics placement, flipped trans, etc)

ya all my weight is up front i have a jr battery relocate kit on it but i am going to have to play with the springs and order some oil thank you guys for helping greatly appreciated
