I had the same squeak in mine. When I installed my VP dig I discovered that the screws holding the output shafts, inside the transmission, had almost come all the way out, and had been rubbing on the trans housing. Might want to tear into your transmission with loctite handy.

Yea the plastic driveshafts squeek alot, it's because the metal yokes turn and put pressure on the plastic shafts

Its your drivelines. Try clocking your axle just a little. To create less angle at the joint. Common out of the box issue. I work at a lhs and this is always one of the first things people complain about.

Year old thread I know. Just replying to really help clarify this. It's the universals all day. Just built my wrangler kit and drive it one time. By the end of the run it was driving me mad how much it was squeaking. It's only on power when it's moving. Not when you turn the wheels by hand. Hit up the joints with some trinity bushing oil and noise gone. I'm sure everyone has a different answer due to their specific case of something rubbing or grinding. But this is a common issue that I've experienced on all 5 axial vehicles I've owned. It's the joints, it's a regular maintenance part, you need to clean them and oil them just like a real truck |
