Anyone know where I can find these screws? I looked at home depot and maybe they were out or they just don't have them. This is the how to I was gonna follow; Axial Racing - Battery Relocation – SCX10 Jeep RTR any help would be appreciated!

I just reused the screws that were holding the bracket on in the rear.

I just did mine this weekend, I ordered the screws from tower, bought a bunch of misc. sizes. I had 3-30 mm screws and just cut them down with wire strippers that have the holes for cutting screws. I also cut those longer spacers down so the battery tray sets on the reciever box and removed my esc used velcro and rotated it 180 deg. moved it down and to the outside a 1/4" to clear the driveshaft. When I first did it like they showed, the bat. tray nocked the esc off the tape. I am useing traxxas 5000mah lipos from my summit, they are long but fit exactly in the tray, and they move the jeep grill out so I put clear tape on the body to keep the paint from wearing through. I get over an hour run time with me and my kids running full throttle most of the time on the jeep. I bought spc 8200 mah 50c batteries for my summit and they made a huge difference. You moved the esc down and 1/4" out? I need to get the battery as low as i can, might see if i can relocate the esc to the back of the truck.

I moved it down to be flush with the top of the reciever box but the driveshaft will hit it so I moved it to the outside of the frame a little ,I rotated the esc because of the on/off switch.

I was going to move the esc to the back but the motor wires are a bit short, I did buy a couple extention wires for the servo and esc but didn't think about the motor wires. The servo stops almost to the battery tray on full compression so no need to lower it any more by moving the reciever box. |

Ok, I may go to Loews and see if they have a screw i can use or cut down and use. Thanks, I'll see what i can do. Would cutting the wires to the esc, servo, and motor then soldering in new wire extensions be a bad idea. I'm not the best at soldering but can get it done.

Well I found some that were a tad bigger so I drilled out the holes a bit and it worked. I didn't like how the battery tray hit the esc so I relocated everything to the back. Had to bust out the soldering gun for the steering servo wires. Everything worked out good, no more wheelies lol. |
