Default cutting links down to size help

i have some bent links from my ax10 i want to use on my scx10 and was wondering if i cut them down can i still screw the long grubs in far enough. the bent links are 101mm and i need them to be atleast 96mm maybe a bit shorter but i wont know till i cut them first any help would be great

I don't know how muck thread they have in them, but why not get a long screw and wind it in as far as it will go, then measure to see how much thread you have, if your going to cut I would do an equal amount from both ends.

I Have cut the axial links with no issues of rethreading into the side I cut. I don't remember how far I cut but a old trick if you don't have a tap and dye set is to take an old screw of the same size and thread it into the cut end first then back it out that way it will at least provide some relief when threading in the rod end.

big thanks for the help guys i managed to get one cut for now and i just had to cut the grub screw abit shorter but they worked just like i wanted them too
