| My JK: Zombie Apocalypse
Hey Everyone, I'm a new JK RTR owner; Ive had it for about a month now. A Week in, my truck started refusing to move forward (reverse always worked). Talked to Axial and I'm STILL waiting for my ESC replacement. In the mean time i've purchased a Dynamite Tazer 12T waterproof, and it's been a great replacement. I like the waterproofing addition. Anyway, i have slowly been doing things to my truck for fun and i thought I'd share a few pictures! On my local RC club page, this build is called Operation Ghetto Storm because i use what ever i can find around the house to mod my scx10 with. I'll let the pictures do the talking. First up was to reorganize things. I put the batter front/center and as low as possible. This is a normal thing to do it seems, and all it took was some zip ties. Next i went digging through my old electronics stuff and found a few Metal cased blue LED's. They fit really well here! Next i went digging through my kids toy box and found these mega blocks that he no longer uses. Evidently, the top nub fits around the JK headlight section PERFECTLY. So this happened: The body of my JK is stock of course, other than clearing out the headlights and removing some decals. So i went with a theme i chose over this last weekend. It's different and it's kind of fun. I'm completely new to decorating or applying a Theme to an RC, so i imagine this will expand over time: First up was a sweet Hockey Tape, Wax, Little Caesars add roof! Then came some other random stuff.. like my driver and his.. passenger? I'll be getting some black paint to darken up the red a bit so i can spatter much more blood onto the front of the truck and hopefully it'll look semi-realistic. This first iteration was a proof of concept for me. I wanted to be sure i could make blood spatter and that the red wasn't just going to easily rub off on the smooth lexan body. So far its very durable! I plan to do more work today, so stay tuned for more pictures! |

Added some more blood: I think this will be good enough in the blood department. |
