| Taking tires off stock rims
I ordered some rims for my rtr rubcion and was curious how I can get the tires off the rims. I also plan on cutting my foams. Eventually I'm gonna change to a different tire, but for now I'm gonna stick with the stock tires. Thanks!

Asked many times but if you do a search you will find it., But here it is off of Harley thread hope this helps you out Bro...... 2 tires successfully dismounted! Place 2 tires on cookie sheet covered with tinfoil. Preheat oven to 325 Bake tires for 30 minutes. Remove tires from oven, leave on cookie sheet. With oven mits or protection of some sort, break the tires off the bead on the side facing up. Flip the tires over and place back in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and finish removing the tires from the wheels. EASY! Please be careful! I had some water in my tires and the steam that was coming out could have been pretty dangerous. |

I boiled my Rubi tires and wheels in a large pot of water. It took a long time to get them to break loose but it finally happened. The oven trick sounds as if it would be faster. And yes, you can smell the rubber when it gets hot.

I will warn you. Do not use your wifes good cookie sheet and do not do in the house when she is gone. She will smell it when she get home, even 12 days later. I would suggest finding an old microwave oven at a second hand store and doing it out side. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 |

I soaked stock wraith tires and wheels in acetone over night and they came right off very easily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

+1 on the acetone, i use something disposable that i can lay my tire in, but doesn't have much depth and have just enough acetone to cover where the glue would be. I also weight down the middle of the rim so that it touches the bottom of the container so i don't have my whole tire and foams soaking in acetone. It takes quite a while but it comes off smooth, little to no glue left over and I haven't had any issues after the fact

The above is a great vid - watch it! And +1 to the acetone - hands down IMO the best way to do it - did it that way on last set of factory glued treps I bought off classifieds here and will do it that way this point forward. |

I let them sit for 2hrs, went to check on them, and the seam was already starting to break. I applied a lil pressure and they popped off. Got them all off! Thanks!

I let mine sit overnight in an empty paint can with the acetone. They pretty much fell off the rims the glue was completely gone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
