| Nightster's Rubicon (yes I know, another one)
Hello all, after wanting a scale crawler for a while I finally ordered the rtr Wrangler Rubicon. I'm using a 2s 5000 mah Lipo battery. Just recently relocated the battery to the front and moved all the electronics to the back. Performs a lot better with the battery up front. I plan on water proofing it soon so I can play in the mud. I ordered some rims from Mayhem Engineering and they should be delivered today but have yet to order tires. Can't make up my mind which ones I want. Toss up between Baja claws and pit bulls. After rims and tires I plan on focusing on the steering. Maybe one day I'll throw some axles under it but no plans yet. Here are some pictures, excuse the weak attempt at photography its just a camera phone lol. After the relocate |

Same as mine. I'm waiting on some mayhems. I'm gonna use the stock tyres though. They are supposed to be really good. I notice on the pic with the battery relocation yours are on backwards.... :-)

I thought about using the stock tires, but don't want to bake them and make my house smell bad. Might try to find some acetone and try that route.

Yeah. Dilemma for me too. I will do it....and I will get a rollicking off the Mrs for it. Haha. If you do it before me (with the acetone) let me know if it is easy. I may try that. My Mayhems have just been shipped but may take a while as I'm in the UK. :-)

Rims came in! I ordered 5 but one had a defect so they are making another and shipping it out later. I ordered 1.9 black remachined Monsters with a machined ring and .750" hub. |

Can you do a front shot. I chose the .650 hubs. Interested to see the wider stance. |

Ill try to get a decent one tonight. You probably made a good choice as the .750" seem pretty wide. After I get my steering the way I want, I might order some smaller ones.

If your on a budget and cant afford a $100.00-$150.00 right now like me,I just installed the solar d772 servo from hobby partz with a BEC and ran it at 6V and see a pretty big improvement from the stock servo. The servo only cost like 20 bux,the bec is another 20,you will also need a castle link if you cant borrow one from someone,I think they are like another 20 bux. The servo worked pretty good for the money so far im very happy with it,how long will it last,I dont know but overall people seem to like them. Even if you dont go with a BEC,"which you should if your going with a bigger servo",Look into the castle link,You can program your existing ESC drag brake with it,and that really helps out holding on a hill or coming down one.
