Bobbed Mojave on SCX10

Used the string method to cut the plastic. Worked pretty well, just have to take your time and keep the string from heating up.

Did you widen the stance at all or do the tires stick out that much with that body?? Im thinking of doing a Hilux body on mine but if the tires stick out that much...im not so sure about it anymore....

I ordered hubs with too much offset, but probably going to run it this way for a bit.

This looks great, I love the paint as well. I don't know how hard it would be with that body but adding some wheel wells would make it look even better than it already does.

Yep, they were just $50 more than i wanted to spend at the time. Its got a few other issues to resolve as well. Notably sliders need to be positioned differently and i'm not 100% the body mounting is secure enough.

I did not know that wheel wells were part of the kit and that is pretty expensive for them, I thought that it was something that you could/had to make. Please don't think I was bashing on it, your truck looks great!

Re: Bobbed Mojave on SCX10

Time for an update.

I've had this out several times and the paint shows it. It rode pretty tall and a bit too wide for scale, so it was time for mild update/rebuild. I recently tried brazing and enjoyed both the process and results so decided to add some nerf bars b/w the sliders and the bumper while I moved to a smaller offset hub and dropped the body mounting position.

Here it is, a bit too tall and wide:
