| My scx10... now going 6x6
This is my scx10 build and trial run thread. I think many of you have seen the build so I wont get into too much of that other than what I used. It was a dingo kit that i added a few goodies to and set out to make a more crawl capable scaler. I am not quite there yet, but i am getting close. Any way the list of parts used in my rig. Hot racing alum trans gears, 98mm integy shocks, 20w front and 30w rear, pitbull tires... per recommendation from here, novak goat 3s...... yess the dreaded novak i like it including its faults, flipped trans, savox 230oz servo, mip driveshafts, 32 pitch gears, weighted axial 1.9 beadlocks. Here are the pics... Last edited by cg78; 10-23-2013 at 02:43 PM. Reason: changed to 6x6 |

Right on! I was going to ask about location too because the terrain looks familiar. I crawl in the Sierras down here south of Yosemite. I'll be passing by on the 80 on my way to Reno/Carson for a 1:1 offroad trip next weekend. I'll be sure to wave if I see a little Dingo. What motor are you running? Looks like it may be Novak as well, maybe the 18.5 or 21.5? Last edited by 05Fronty4x; 05-09-2013 at 09:17 AM. |

I haven't been back to Rocklin since I ran across one of those rattling snakes in the tall grass. I got out of my car and started heading in through the grass when I heard and saw him at the same time. If I ever go back I will take a big long stick and do some probing first. Nice fun place to go though. I don't know why the city doesn't keep that area up. It used to be a nice park.

The place I go is in between the napa auto parts and the goodyear tire. Only thing that is weird is the strange folks walking around there.

Thanks man I will be adding more scale parts though. It seems to crawl well..... though I may need to drop it just a bit the cg is a little too high, but then again I have a lot of ground clearance so I am not sure which trade of I am willing to sacrifice.

Okay I have a bit of an update. I decided to be more scale since i setup my wraith better than expected. I am making my own links, from dribble on rc sparks.... give him credit, and I am going with the rc4wd d90 hard body. I have a pic of the finished upper 4 link and lower rear that are finished. You can see the shell in the background. I am still deciding on body mounts. I am going to keep the pit bull tires because they crawl so well. I need to work out how to make it look good with them. Here is the pic ill add more as I go along. |

Here is an update to my d90 build. I finished it and weighted the wheels a lot more to offset the heavy hard shell. Pic time. Custom made rear bumper with hard shell mount posts. Self braised bumper second one. First one was not good lol. Cut and fitted dingo flares on the d90 body. Yes i cut the oem ones off the shell first. Gunship grey paint. Painted glass and fitted interior. Flex me An outside pic since the inside ones make the paint seem purple. Both bumpers were painted with vht epoxy paint. The wheels are weighted to 8.75 oz's each. I will be taking her out on friday for a test run at folsom lake wish me luck. |
