| What Is AX80009 #4 Used For?
So I picked up a used Wraith tranny doing a 1.9'r build on SCX10 axles yada yada yada... Quick question: the loaded tranny did not come with AX80009 #4 which is that little cover that pops onto the back of the tranny case behind the spur gear. Is this necessary to run without it on? I'm guessing this is to prevent dirt from getting in. But why have it removable? I'm thinking some styrene surrounded with PlastiDip or some CA would work just fine. Axial Transmission Set It's that little circle cover with the Axial emblem on it.... |

That piece that's a circle with the Axial symbol is just a bearing dust cover. You don't have to have it to run the transmission but it could help keep crap out of the area. The reason it is removeable is because the tranmission can be mirrored by moving the motor plate on the opposite side.

Also, the nut to adjust your slipper is located just behind that little cover.

I'm pretty sure they're the same cover, just used in different locations. One on the trans case and the other on the spur cover.

| Re: What Is AX80009 #4 Used For? They are two totally different pieces the one that goes on the transmission is much smaller than the one on the spur gear cover. The original question had nothing to do with the spur gear cover.
