Default '99Chevy pickup(crawler)

This is the first build from rtr wroncho...

Body change...

More crawler parts...wheels/tires,vp lockers,vp dig, rear underdives, tekin pro handwound 35t/fxr,relocated shocks...but still had bad approach angles front & rear with frame rails stock length!!! So I selected a '99 Chevy pickup to try & chop it to fit...

Studying on way home from hobby shop.
Then the start...

I'm still thinkin & choppin?????
Bobbed rear almost complete!!!

The front turned out ok with flat style cut fendrrs

VP lockers installed with titanium rear & rc4wd universal shafts!!!

As it is...
Tekin 35t pro/FXR
Spectrum Waterproof rec
CC BEC 7.2
Hobbico 170(steering)
VP dig with hitec 645
HD horns
Hot racing tranny gears
Upgraded traxxas drivelines for now stole mips for wraith
Gmade 90mm shocks
VP lockers(drilled with set screw for adjustment)
Vp DH pro comp II/rovers with ci foams
Ti rear shafts front rc4wd universals
Strc Alum chubs,knuckles,lockouts
Axial links(random kits)
Rc4wd sliders
shopping for bumpers(suggestions???)

Things left to do...for now???
Cut frame front & rear
Add bumpers
Maybe a light or two?
Paint body

Thanks for looking & let me know what u think???

wow you are pretty much building exactly what im working on making mine like. I see you are running axle wideners too? have any trouble with them coming loose? Also i love you shocks. How are you getting them to squat so low? Thats my next purchase i think. Are you running a droop kit as well? Thanks a ton im gonna keep watching this rig!

Cool! Just got wideners for mocking up wheelbase with VP wheels, offset is in the hubs.
But the answer to question is"no" no issues with this type, best ones I have used!
These Internal shocks have option to run (sprung or droop) setup. I chose droop for now with current stance...
no droop kit just homemade tower adapters to get more angle on shocks!!
Ty!

Interesting setup. IMO I would have chopped the grille sticker and kept full headlights to make it look like a doved front and flat fenders.. I was curious which extenders you are using, the amount of extra width they give, and if they mount using a set screw. Reason I ask is bc I have a set of HR extenders but to hold the axle pin in, a rubberband is used.. was thinking about using heat shrink to keep it in but then you have to cut it every time you want to work on internals

good body style. they still had some definition at that year.
I'm definitely drawn to the older stuff.

Really cool thought...I may still do that!!! Ty. I will be trimming more on fenders to have "flat" look, but clearance issues is a factor with this 1.9 rig & 2.2 tires sittn lower than stock in addition to the 99 chevy stampede body! I have another scx10 72 c10 chevy build (1.9) starting up after this build complete!!! I will be using ur idea that is a great tip thanx!!!!

The wheel wideners is made by Junfac. +13 offset without Set screws, barrell nuts, lock&flat washers come with the kit. They have been the best wideners seen/used imo! only bad is $27 but worth every penny if needed...just waitn on wider hubs from VP...

Thank you!

Here is a couple pics & a video of comp runs today...

Placed 3rd!!! Without trimming frame that cost me a gate??? With bad approach on front...oh we'll???

This thing is a very surprising rig, it ran with in a wide open shafty class! out of 12 drivers...not bad but still room for tuning!!!

Thanx for lookin!
