Default Steering woes.

Hi all,

Right now I'm running a SCX10 Honcho that is mostly stock. I have some Motowerx beadlocks and 1.9 rock beasts, but that's as far as my mods go, if you can even call it that :P

Anyway, I've noticed a lot lately that my steering isn't always doing what it should be. Sometimes (even when not under much of a load,) I'm not getting any response from my radio input. When this happens, I can get the truck to turn by rolling forward or backward.

I'm in the process of adding some GCM axle housings and metal suspension links. Since I was buying stuff from rpp already, I grabbed a new steering servo as I've heard the stock one is a bit wimpy.

Is the behavior I'm seeing the result of a crappy servo, or is it something else?

Sounds like the servo cannot move the new grippy heavy wheels to me. :-) the stock steering link on mine would often bend instead of moving the wheels when under stress....not much stress either....

I already bought a servo I think it'll be waiting for me when I get home today

I've had a full Axial metal link set but haven't installed it yet because I actually got it for when I start running my Hilux body. In light of what I've learned so far while crawling, I'm just going to make myself some longer lower rear links and install the rest. That kit comes with metal steering links, which are definitely going in with that new servo.
