| Yet another 2012 Rubicon
This was the first truck that I picked up in about 2.5 years! After having my first kid and a few job changes I kind of just got out the hobby. Now that I have a great job that i actually enjoy and my son is old enough to really start taking an interest in RCS I figured it was a good time to get back into the swing of things. Lot changes in 2 years! So anyways RBGerrish had a nib rtr rubicon fs at a great price and I picked it up! I was planning on just keeping it stock and using it to bash around with. It stayed in its stock form for a few weeks and actually performed a lot better than expected! So far I ended up swapping the electronics box and the battery try around to get more weight up front. I also used black plastidip on the fender flairs to give them a nice 'deep' black look. Its subtle but I really like the way it came out! Here is a list of stuff the truck has now... - 4 rc4wd Iroks still need the spare - pro line 1.9 bead locks - Hot Racing high Steer knuckles aluminum - Aluminum C-hubs not sure of the brand - Axial dvds - Axial overdrive gears up front - pro line power stroke scaler shocks - spektrum DX3e radio - hi tec 645 servo - rc4wd red bulldog winch - proline scale Accessories I still have not test driven it since the first round of upgrades. There is still a lot more I'd like to do to it. I have a 35t brood hand wound on the way. I will probably rob the Holmes ESC out of my other truck. Here are a few pics I have of it. Still in stock form... Few parts. Front axle. Here's how it sits now. I'm open to any suggestions!!!! |

Your Jeep looks great. My only suggestion, move your axe and jack to a safer location. They WILL get sheared off where they are now. I have a larger roof rack and was able to put my tools inside.

I need to get a new roof rack fabbed up or go the lazy and more probable route and buy a pro line rack! That one on there was actually made for the top of a ford courier body I had but never liked the way it looked with a rack. I still want to paint the outside of the body and interior. I think I am going to try to find the gunmetal color plastidip they came out with and maybe a tan interior. Still need to get my steering up in the chassis and upgrade to metal links. I'm sure this will turn into a project that is never really done! |

My plan was to get the VP mounts and the 6" bar but couldn't say no to the trade so now I'll just find a way to make these work! Pic from rockstarr.. |

Put in a few more hours into the truck. Got my custom Brood motor in so I flipped the tranny 180 degrees and installed the power house. I also swapped out the stocker ESC finally for the Holmes BRXL and added a castle bec. I swapped out the 645mg for an hsr5995tg servo. Got a simple led kit from my lhs to get some lighting on the bumpers of the truck till my crawlerdad lights come in This motor is just plain purdy!!! |

Got the simple led installed half assed! Flash on the phone camera didn't really help out. Still need to mount the other 2 lights up front and need lenses for the front. Out of all the RCS I have had in the past this is the first one I properly put a bec in so I'm looking forward to seeing the difference. |

Got a package in the mail today! Only had a small amount of time to work so I just copied rock_starr's method of mounting to get one of the crawlerdad lights mounted up, just trimmed up some old tlt link mounts. Here it is with just the leads jammed in a 2s lipo to see how it looked. I still have the VP rear lockouts to install and two more crawlerdad lights. Now should I put them both underneath for rock lights or one underneath and one on the roof rack/ or hood???? Truck has been sitting idle for a while, so I dusted it off and installed the VP rear lockouts, replaced the crappy roof rack with a pro-line one and got to testing! Here are some pics... And with the rig being as heavy as it is the stock plastic links are just not cutting it. As soon as I can afford to I'm getting me some Blue Monkey Ti links to remedy this problem.... Notice the tire isn't quite in the right position! I still need to finish installing the other two light bars and wire em up. |

Also need to acquirer way more scale goodies to fill out that big ass rack that's up their now! And get my hi lift on the hood as clean as possible. Newest plan is to buy a new clear body and go with my standby color combo of tamiyas copper and their gunmetal. Love that combo! Its crazy I got this truck with the intention of keeping it 100% stock and just having a little fun. With it! |

I also think I need to do a CMS/panhard setup. Oh and it'll be a while before I can come up with the coin, but I have really been wanting some Currie axles on this thing!!!
