If you want to rock race the gearing is fine, if you want to crawl you should gear down and or get a higher turn motor. IMO I stay away from lift kits and longer shocks it worsens performance because of higher cog. I'm running a wroncho right now with 2.2's stock 90mm length shocks, I just had to cut the body as needed. You can always raise the body for less of a weight penalty. Longer shocks also worsen driveline angles = broken or shortened driveshaft life.
I just bought the Junfac piggyback shocks and couldn't be happier. Their large bore really gives you control as well as the piggyback. And no leaks and they look pimp and they don't cost that much. And....

You can see my rig if you search 7demo7 on YouTube

If you haven't already, you should be widening your truck with the 2.2s. Any axle widener should help. I used the Junfac 17mm ones from RPP hobbies

No need to widen it. ESP if your running wraith axles.

Gearing is a personal preference. What might be fast to me - could feel slow to you.
Build your truck how you want with the stock gearing and take it out.
If it runs hot- gear down. Need more speed - lower turn motor.

Slowly tweeking and playing with it like this will also teach you the pros and cons to each setup. But ALWAYS watch your temps. No need to cook your gear.
