Thanks for the input. 1.9 look and work well. I put a small set of 2.2 and love the look and performance. But my buddy says it looks out of scale! I think it looks like someone put 33z on there 4x4 and some scale accessories on and goes out to have fun.

They definently perform better but don't look scale at all. It all depends on what you want. I like to have fun so I'm running wraith 2.2's and they're amazing. Of course once I did that I had to transform into a wroncho.
I'm planning to build up a scaler only rig so I can have one of each ie: a kind of 2.2 rock racer and a 1.9 scaler

If you search 7demo7 on YouTube you can see my rig before and after the wraith axles

I think they look daft personally. To high and not wide enough unless you use Wraith axles. Then is looks mean as....but still looses the scale look.

I run 2.2 flat irons on mine too, as they're one of the smaller 2.2 tires. I also run the level3RC lift kit to clear the fenders. I think it climbs better as 2.2 that the 1.9" rock beasts.

IMO... 2.2' look too big if trying to keep any resemblance of scale.

but the tires that come with the heep are taller...
and fit the 1.9's.

Over sized somewhat, but still look somewhat to scale.

^ likely the route I'll take.

It'll look very cartoonish. IMO, the entire point of having a scaler is to look scale.

Maybe a bit cartoonish, but I think my Bronco with 2.2's looks pretty scale:

There are so many great 1.9 tires. You're missing out on the scale looks, driving style, and performance of a properly proportioned scale truck by putting huge tires on it.

Bigger tires do not mean better performance, especially on a Honcho. You gain ground clearance but with it you lose a low center of gravity.

If you want 2.2's just buy a ridgecrest or a wraith.

well i have a 1:1 with bigger tyres, and i do say,it performs allot better, same case here, with 2.2 and a proper suspensions you get more performance out of it

The best my honcho has ever performed was while it had 1.9 tsl-sx at about 4.2". It climbed like a goat and would go pretty much anywhere. It went places my wraith with 5.7" tires could never dream of. I even tried bigger 1.9's like rok lox and baja claws and boggers and it completely ruins the handling characteristics. I currently am settled on 1.9 pit bulls which get better traction overall but for pure rock crawling I always wish I still had the tsl-sx.

Before converting my scx10 to a wroncho I had the wraith 2.2 ripsaws on my truck. I was running the 17mm wheel wideners. The track width was 10.25" which helped with stability and looked more in proportion. If you raise the cog by putting on tall 2.2's and don't widen your truck it'll perform like a**.

Just my 2c but I don't really think that the honcho is very scale anyway but they do look better with the 1.9's scale wise, but the 2.2's look ok with a wider axle and they certainly perform better. I just used a widening kit to run the 2.2's on mine so I could change it back easily.

I used to run 2.2 flat irons also. It was pretty awesome.
