No more shelf queen (Final version of my JK) 8 Attachment(s) Hey guys, I thought I would share my latest, (and hopefully - Last) iteration of my SCX-10 JK... The orange one ("Crush Recovery") - While really cool looking, just wasn't doing it for me in the scale realism dept. While it made a Sweet shelf queen, I wanted to run a jeep that looked more like one the average guy would build out of a factory JK... Not a "show" truck... So I went with Gun Metal Grey (Tamiya PS-23) I also added a chick, a dog, and a butt-load of Proline scale goodies, including proline bumpers and Floorpan... and replaced the 3 racing winch with a bulldog winch, and changed the links and steering linkages to axial aluminum. Attachment 242894 Attachment 242895 Attachment 242896 Attachment 242898 Attachment 242899 Attachment 242900 Attachment 242901 Attachment 242902 I have also made 2 new high quality videos of my rig in action. you can watch them on youtube. watch this one first: SCX-JK - YouTube and this one second: SCX-JK II - YouTube Also feel free to enjoy my others if you havent already, and let me know what you think! These videos were filmed in 1080P and uploaded in 1080P, but my pc will only play them in 720... if anyone knows a solution to this please let me know... When I stream them through my Apple TV they seem to be 1080, so if anyone is able to view them in 1080 please let me know... |

I had two of the laser cut pins, one I had polished to a mirror finish and wear on a chain, the other i used to make this scale plate for my Axial, to honor my Brother. JV is his initials, and 32 was his age. I started building these trucks after he died, cause I knew he would have loved them, and we couldn't wheel or work on our Full scale crawlers together anymore... Sorry... Long story behind that plate... |
Re: No more shelf queen (Final version of my JK) Looks like you have everything packed you could ever need in your rig. Nice Job! "thumbsup" |
Re: No more shelf queen (Final version of my JK) I liked the video's. Sorry for your loss. |
Re: No more shelf queen (Final version of my JK) Outstanding Rig! I wouldn't have thought of the color combinations that you have, but they look great! B |
Re: No more shelf queen (Final version of my JK) kool heep... nice editing... enjoyed the video... but the music selection brings deh suck for me. maybe if I were a kid 1? nah... I doubt I'd have any appreciation even as a kid. But I suppose you'll find like minded saying otherwise. |
Re: No more shelf queen (Final version of my JK) you did it right! The chick in the passenger seat looks like a cross of Jillian Michals from biggest loser and a "cholla", lol |
Re: No more shelf queen (Final version of my JK) Thanks guys! Yeah, the music sucks, but Its hard to find decent royalty free music. I started using only the royalty free stuff after having some of my videos either removed all together or having ads placed on them. I still think almost any music is better than nothing though. |

Re: No more shelf queen (Final version of my JK) Where in CT are you? I'm in stafford springs. The tamiya gun metal is probably my favorite color for lexan bodies! And then the tamiya copper is 2nd! What did you use to mount the hi lift to the hood? I have mine on my roof rack on my JK, I do however need a bigger rack. Will probably just go with the proline one as well. |
