Default Been gone for awhile but I'm back and have a problem

Bought my 5 year old a scx10 rubicon rtr. Everything seems perfectly fine except if you push or pull the throttle really fast sometimes it completely stalls out and you have to let off of it and go again easy or it does the same thing. Also if you are up against a obstacle and go to gas it it stalls out and will do nothing. Is this all normal cause if so I'm really disappointed. This is the first axial I have had I always had losi before. Thanks for the help and I'm using a nimh battery and got a good hour run out of it. I believe it's a 3300 off the top of my head. Thanks in advance.

Well the part about the stalling during rapid trigger pull is not normal. However, if up against an obstacle stalling could be the slipper working. It's meant to slip under very heavy load to protect the drive train. If you can get a hold of a lipo battery, give that a try. If not, call Axial and see what they have to say. I'm sure others here will give advice also.

Sounds like a battery/esc issue. Are you using nimh and the esc is in Lipo mode?

Ran into a stalling-out behavior on my sons Rubicon. Did not realize it was the cause of the issue until I was reading up on the AE-2. I thought it was a problem with my NiMH batteries. We would only use them while the LiPo's were charging.

Sounds like a "brownout"
Invest in a castle 10a BEC. your problems will likely go away.

I had the same problem with my sons ae2 esc. I was using a small nimh battery. As soon as I plugged in one of my lipo's it jumped to life. Problem solved!

If the LiPo works use Castle Link to switch over to NiMH mode by disabling the cut-off and then try again.

I should add that I was having this issue with 7-cell 8.4V Traxxas batteries, not standard 6-cells.

I would have thought that soulution would work as well, but didn't solve the problem for me.

I had a 7 cell nimh battery for my son but after 20 min the battery would die out. He's and I much happier with his lipo 5000 mah 40c battery that lasts and lasts and hour +. My son is only 6! The cost is about the same for a lipo setup...

I have a few lipos. I'm not 100% sure I got the cutout shut off cause I was trying to do it with the remote. Guess I don't know how to hook it up and change settings any other way
