The shocks are really nice and so smooth! I went with 40wt oil for starters, depending on how heavy this thing gets I might have to go thicker. They look awesome under there too, thanks dude!

I never even ran my icon shock (built stock including 30 wt oil) and they leak like crazy! Let me know if you run into the same problem so I know if it's just me that messed up building them.

my non-icon axial shocks have the same issue...plus they feel gritty as hell - not sure if its ripping the o-ring or not, but something's not happy in there

When you build them you have to be careful putting the shock shafts through the o-rings, the threads can really jack them up. Use green slime in that bottom "cartridge" area and they should be fine.

I think the biggest thing with the stock shocks is the pistons, the machined ones in the Icons are much more smooth.

Will I finished wiring up what was needed for a little test drive. Couldn't resist, I had to see it flexing and driving under it's own power!

Nice rig my man!

Love those wheels, I had a set on my Rubicon but they rubbed the VP eight degree knuckles so I sold them. I was running the narrower Treps too, but still rubbed.

Sorta sucks 'cause they look awesome.

Thanks! I put some Integy hexes on, they are about 2.5mm wider than the stock ones and it gave just enough clearance I was happy. Tire sidewall can still rub the knuckle a little bit sometimes, but I'm ok with it!

LED setup showed up today, going to start doing work on the body!

Looking awesome Ty! You really have me interested in the ROC412's for all my trucks now!

Do you plan on making any YouTube videos of your RC's in action?

Winter is always slow for me, but I got sparked on working on the JK again. Tore it down this weekend to paint the inner fender liners, BPC trusses and Rigid light bar mounts. Now I'm working on the lights and getting the spaghetti mess of wiring in the body taken care of, light buckets in place and all that jazz. Then I'm going to tackle the winch project.

I'll get some more pics tonight of it put back together.

Super clean build!

Don't you love how Winter will motivate rig building? I'm on my second Winter since getting back into RC and it just seems like the best time to be in the house and tinker with these things.

Thanks! Yep, winter always has a way of motivating me to work on my rigs and have them ready for spring time. I have 2 races the next two weekends, but I will try to stay on this build and keep posting updates!

RSG2 handles the ROC412 great and nope, no BEC. I run 2S and the BEC in the RSG2 is an improvement over the original, haven't had any issues the little bit I've got to wheel it.. I'm just running the 9100T servo right now, winch will be added when I get time.
