Default Servo horn (replacement)

I have the Honcho RTR...

My stk servo horn screw backed out slightly
and the plastic horn splines seem to be fubar or partially stripped.
Also... the stk servo horn doesn't seem to throw as far as I think it could
even tho' my tx is set at max value.

I know the stk servo splines are Futaba 25s
But read that the spline pitch may be slightly different !?
So possibly a clamp style servo horn would be a good idea ?

So... has anyone replaced their stk plastic horn
with a slightly longer (3mm-?) alloy horn that offers a little bit more throw ?

I measured about 20 mm eye 2 eye...
is this right for the stock plastic horn ?

Are the alloy Axial servo horns any longer then their plastic horns ?

If you've already done this...
your help and a link to that would be appreciated.

thanks ahead.

Go for it Taco...a longer horn gives you better throw. A metal horn will not strip as easily either. Robitronics makes a good one . Any clamp style will work well. Far better than stock

Some brands actually will tell you what the lengths are...

ended up paying more then I wanted to
for the Axial/Futaba clamp style servo horn...

good news... is that it has eye to eye holes
at both 20mm and 24mm. (I recommend the 24mm)

I looked for others... found a few...
but the price wasn't much cheaper then at my LHS

Axial part # AX30836 (for futaba or AS-3 (25 spline servos)

Whatever you do, don't cheap out on the servo horn! Cheapies strip out real easily!
