Demo's scaler build on the cheap- yet not so cheap!

I'm starting my second build, an SCX10. My hope to to purchase all the parts I need off of the classified section of this website!
The things I have so far:
Rolling chassis and body- Craigslist (this is an original honcho sitting In a guys garage for years so alu links but 3 linked uppers) $160
Honcho cab- RCC classifieds- $18
Vp lockouts, high steer knuckles- RCC-C $70 including the chubs below
Axial clockable c-hubs- RCC-C
TH 1.9 race claws w soft foams- RCC-C $20
Axial 55 turn motor - craigslist - free throw in
Ae2 esc- personal stock
Dx3e radio and rx- personal stock

All I really need is a stock steering servo but I'll prob get a solar servo. I either will make a truggy rear end for this cab or go for either a Hilux body or a Jeep Rubicon of some sort. I'd really like to go with something super scale looking (ie: not the honcho body)
I love the Hilux but there are so many and I made one in 1:20 scale

I kind of went crazy with my first build -Wroncho rock racer- so I'm looking at going way more slow, torquey and scale. I want to make my own cms and panhard link setup and some other cool stuff. I like the TH Race Claws, they actually look pretty scale but they're stiffer than I'd like

I'll be updating as I go

You can PM me if you have any of the items I need

And a question with the high steer knuckles- do you guys run the drag link below the steering arms? I figure this is probably the case to get more upward suspension movement

This pic is with the front body lowered and the rear suspension in semi-droop. I removed the upper springs from the rear shocks and am running about 3/4" of droop.

On order: Rc4wd CVD's and a solar servo- I may still order some steel wheels if they come up in the classifieds

I still need to figure out what body to run, I want something unique bu not gawdy!
I also mirrored my transmission..

Sometimes waiting is the hardest part....
Again this is probably the newest scx10 I've ever had. The ones I've bought in the past have been beat! This one is practically new.

sorry for all the on pic postings, it's from my phone, my camera won't recognize my card for some odd reason

Me to! I just picked up some deans plugs and am going to wire up the electronics - ESC and BEC

The tires came with the hardest foam I've ever felt. I don't know if they were from the Twin Hammers or not but they felt like day old bagels!.. I put in some stock Honcho soft foam in there and they felt much better. The tires are a medium softness, probably to cope with the Twin Hammers higher speeds.

It will,
I have my fast as s**t Wroncho for that, lol. This will be a more mellow build for now, or at least, that's what I'm telling myself. Why the hell can't we be happy with stuff that works????? I'm not, I just have to tinker till the cows come home!!

I'm currently making my Wroncho a Poison Spyder style front bumper out of thick brass.

Finally completed my scale Honcho. I'm still searching for the perfect body to go with it....
I like the Race Claw tires, cheap, scale, and they look like they will perform well. I post up my thoughts when I get some rock time in.
I'm enjoying the smoothness of the higher turn motors and how effortlessly they purr along at slow speeds.
I am running a semi-droop setup in the rear. I basically removed the small springs and raised up the spring compression collar to about 1/2" above the spring. We'll see how long I can run it like this, if it doesn't perform the way I want I'll change it up. Running around the house seems good though.
The 400 oz Solar Servo is preforming well. I doubt it's 400 but it's up there. I'm running it with my CC BEC @6v. It's a noisy servo but not as noisy as my Savox. For $17 they are all but disposable.
I have some Robinson all metal gears and outputs coming and a new bumper- from the Classifieds, lol

I'm getting an itch to try out a TF2 and since this rig hasn't touched dirt I'd be up for trades. PM me if you have something

A quick question about the Rc4wd CVD's, They came with an e-clip but I can't seem find where they're suppose to go, No instructions given...

EDIT*
If you look at the 4th photo down the bearing was creeping out, that eclip goes on the axle right there to hold the bearing in place,,,,durrrrr I feel silly now...

Next step is to make a new drag link to clear the pumpkins. To maximize my steering..

Thanks to Bmuzz1 for the Gmade ts-02 scale shocks and RR metal gears for my gear box.
Even though the Gmade TS-02 are just spring shocks and a bit springy I'm going for true scale looks even if it means sacraficing a bit of performance.

Good news, I finally decided on what body- I just ordered a Proline 73 Bronco body. I've always loved the bronco look, a friend of ours had one and It was awesome

Just got back from vacation and had these G made 1.9 VR01 beadlock wheels waiting for me. On the cheap they were only $12 a pair. The beadlock is tight and fit well.

This is my "scale" flex shot. I'm also going to paint the grill white and of course add stickers
