| Giving an old Honcho a new look
I've been on the site for a while, but I haven't posted any pitures of my rig. It started as a use Honcho that was prtty much stock excepy aluminus steering links and fourpoints, E-MAXX shocks and 2.2 proline rims and flat iron. Here is a picture of it on my first crawling adventure. I will be adding new pictures over the next few days showing what I did to make it my own. |

I have a little more time before work to post a few more pics. I first bought some project boxes from radio shack a relocated the electronics over the sliders and lowered the battery mount a half inch or so. Next I chose the old Cherokee body and got it all masked off to paint the trim. Got the trim painted, time to trim body and paint it blue. I decided the tires were too big for the stock wheel wells so I decided to throw so Dingo fender flares on. and here it is with decals. More pictures to come |

How did the stock electronics handle the 2.2's? Any changes besides the body to get them going?

This looks really nice. Does your honcho body fit with the boxes on the skid rails?

| Re: Giving an old Honcho a new look So far they are handling the tires pretty good, I did upgrade the motor for a little more torque. I would say my next upgrade will be a steering servo, that is hardest working part with the 2.2's. I just plan on replacing things as they break.

Very nice! My son just got a used truck that came with that body. It has no bumpers or any other upgrades. I'll have to show him your truck for inspiration!

After a month and a half I finally received my new ESC. It's a V16R Moped. I know it's not a very popular, but I purchased it when I first joined this site and didn't do enough research. I now know I could have spent a little more for something more reliable, but I've been running an old esc from my short course truck and am glad I finally have a drag break. |

It appears you and I had kinda the same idea, revamping our old Honchos. Even looks like we had the same idea on the links as well. Looks good man, keep up the good work! |
