Default SCX-10 JK Body Paint

Hey guys, I want to re paint my stock SCX10 Jeep body. Since I will have to be done on the outside is there anything special I should do to the body Like sand it a little with 1000 grit? Should I prime it first? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've done a couple bodies like this to give the appearance of scratches and stuff as it gets used.

All I've done is clean it real good with soap and water and wipe it with denatured alcohol before paint. It's just like you were painting the inside.

Rustoleum for plastic. Home depot has a huge variety of colors. I have painted dozens of bodies with it and it sticks great. I use a cheap dish sponge to scuff up the outside of the body first.

I painted all of the black on my Jeep with Duplicolor paint. I haven't had any issues paint flaking off. It is a paint meant to touch up cars with plastic bumper covers and such, so it flexes pretty well. I can darn near bend the piece in half and it doesn't crack or flake.
