| Jp Magazine builds a JKU with Axial, Rpp Hobby, and Gearhead RC
So some of you know that I am lucky enough to have a dream job. I am a Feature Editor at Jp Magazine. Its awesome, but it keeps me busy and drags me away from another hobby, building scale RC cars. Well I finally talked my boss, the folks at Axial, and Corey from RPP Hobby/Gearhead RC into letting me build an RC for some web articles for Jp Magazine...The worlds largest Jeep only off-road magazine. My hope is to get to spend more time on RCC and Scale 4x4 as part of work... and to bring some Jeep nuts over into the Scale/crawling RC world while dragging you all over to Jp Magazine. Anyways the first web article is up on our web site and I plan to do a build thread here on RCC and Scale 4x4 with more details so our readers and my friends here can see what I am up to. Right now the Jeep is fairly stock, but I have some plans that should be different enough to keep you RCC/Scale 4x4 nuts interested. here are some links to the web article and I'll be back here soon with some of the first mods I did to the Jeep. Thanks Axial, RPP, and Gearhead RC for your help and support! Here are a few pics as teasers...and a link to the web article. Also check us out on jpmagazine.com or facebook.com/jpmag if you are interested in what we are doing in the 1:1 Jeep world. The article is Here |

Thats pretty awesome, I can guarantee if i werent into rc cars and I was reading a magazine about my real car and saw a tiny remote control version of it, I'd buy one in a second.

GREAT IDEA MAN. Bring more people to the hobby! That is awesome. Having some 1:1 Jeep guys come over to the hobby would be great they may bring some new scale innovation to the table.

Thanks guys, I'll try to post any extra pictures and stuff here. So far the build is pretty basic for RCC, but I am trying to draw the Jp reader newbies in so I am trying to keep it simple. I have been writing for the magazines since 2000. I worked at Jp full time in 2000-2002 and then left to pursue some other interests, but I always tried to do freelance writing for Jp, ,and occasionally for Off Road Adventures. in 2009 I moved to Phoenix and started hitting the freelance hard and hanging out with all my old Magazine pals. Soon I was asking them to let me know if there was ever a full time position open. In 2012 I got lucky and was hired at Jp full time. Its a blast, but it keeps me really busy! That means not much time for my other love, scale 4x4s. My plan is to eventually do some custom brazed parts and do a video of how I silver braze stuff. |

Question #2: I think if you send us a self addressed stamped envelope we (probably Hazel???) will send you a 1:1 Jp sticker? Just send it to: Jp Magazine Jp Stickers 831 S Douglas St El Segundo, CA 90245 No scale Jp stickers yet, but maybe I'll dig into it a little more? | |
