Talking 509 jk build

I've never bought a kit version trail rig for a build so I decided what the hell... We have a comp coming up in August so I picked up a jk kit and am in the process of building it... Let me know what you guys think!

Got the chasis built

Decided tho got with a tekin fxr and 35t pro hand wound

And finally got the body all painted with Chrysler citrus peal metalic

When there is no weight on the suspension and I give it throttle the front axle hops and skips... Does anybody have any ideas why it would do this?

Check your front driveshaft, it might be out of phase.

Not sure what you mean by hops and skips...but how is the angle of your driveshaft going into the front axle? Can you post a pic? I've had angles that caused my axle to seem like it was "surging" before. And if I held it up and hit the throttle it acted choppy and cause alot if bouncing while driving it....may be your issue..but I'm just guessing

I don't know what it was but yes it was surging. I tore the front axle apart am checked everything and it looked fine... I tapped the pinion a little bit down and put it together and it's fine now... Must have been bad mesh.

Thanks guys! I'm just not a fan of everyday colors and everyone having the same color and body and all that! I was trying to go for a different look!

looks like your mirrors are mounted to the front cowl instead of the doors, did you mean to mount them there?

Nice job on that! Turned out good... I like being able to have all the electronics In one spot like yours..if I didn't have an interior in my honcho I'd do something like what you did..keeps the chassis clean looking!

It's nice because the boxes fit perfectly under the original interior!

I only had one issue.... The pinion on the motor slipped off the spur and two tranny screws came loose and fell out but everything is back up and running on the trail!!!

Made a trade last night for an old jk body to a buddy for a set of new mip cvd's! Got them installed tonight and everything tightened back up!
