| Wood dowels in drive shaft.
I went to beef up my drive shafts... and saw 6mm thread-all being used as well as similar sized wood dowels. I found out the hard way that the wood dowels should be avoided. Thing is... If you ever play in/near water... or the dowels wick up moisture. It will expand the plastic on the inner drive shaft and freeze the sliding action of the the inner to outer shaft. If you never roll near moisture... you may be ok... But I wouldn't bet on that. If using wood dowels to strengthen the inner D shaft... I would recommend epoxying the end and sealing that off. Not sure if it could still leak at the other end !? But I'm not testing that... and instead will look for some 6mm thread-all. Hopefully the build up of rust won't cause the same expansion. Anyone else run into this issue ? |

I used carbon arrow shaft and put a bit of shoe goo on to hold it in place. So far lasted a year and a half in my wraith with no problems

You know the axial parts tree is just the right size to fit in the drive shafts right? Almost like ti was meant to be, check it out. Just cut them long enough to stick out the end when pressed all the way in, for removing them. Last edited by BuhBoombuh; 08-08-2013 at 10:09 PM. |

I find the mip are expensive and too heavy, I use the jun fac carbon steel ones.

| Re: Wood dowels in drive shaft. Nonsense. I have a set of junfacs that are over 2 years old and have held up no problem to a 16t CrawlMaster on 4s. The yolks are still tight. I clean and regrease often.

| Thats not power.. I'm talking brushless, and they don't slide well under power, and break off at the yolks
