| EDGE's SCX10 JK Build
Ok, I have been in and out of pretty much every offroad class there is in RC. I got burnt out on the 8th scale E-buggies and short course trucks as it was costing me nearly $300 a weekend to go run 4 classes, haul the trailer and repair/refresh them all at the end of the weekend. So I attended an event today just up the road from me and got the itch to get involved! Long story short, I left the event and purchased an SCX10 JK. No pics of it yet...but I am sure that all of you know what a stocker looks like. I have been trying to absorb as much info as I can through the builds on this site and others. Here is the run down of what is in my shopping cart across a few different sites... VP OMF Beadlock Wheels with 600 hubs Pit Bull Rock Beast Komp Tires Axial 43/13 HD Gear Sets MIP Spline Center Shafts RC Screwz Stainless Screw Set VP VVD Axle Shafts VP 8deg C-Hubs and Knuckles JunFac Skid Blue Monkey Stage 1 Ti Link Kit VP Knuckle Weights VP Front and Rear 4link Plates VP Lockers I am looking into Holmes Hobbies for power upgrades. I have run Tekin in all my other r/c vehicles but I just don't know how they will hold up in water. Also reading up on winches. Trying to figure out how the servo winches work versus the BullDog winches. I run an Airtronics M11 Radio. Converse! I was really eyeing up those Currie axles! Just don't know if they are worth it. |

Forgot to list the HR hardened tranny gears in there. I will take some pics of it tomorrow with my 1:1 rig that I just got road worthy again.

I really like the looks of them...but $170 for the front and I didn't check the rear yet. I know that they are going to be heavier than the stock parts which is great as it will keep the weight way down low.

Ok, just ordered a whole helping of Vanquish goodies. Can't decide if I am more excited for the Rock Jocks or the OMF wheels lol $760 with rpp $190 with vp $38 with TCS This thing got expensive in a hurry! I am holding off on an esc and motor upgrade. Going to do a little more reading to figure out what the best will be. Last edited by 2003EDGE; 08-21-2013 at 07:14 PM. |

I have always loved the look of the Trepadors on the Wrangler. Good luck with your build and be sure to post up pics as you go! |

Well, I started working slowly on my project. I am in the middle of renovating a house that I will be moving into shortly. So the R/C got put slightly on hold. But I should be able to mess with it some more this week. I had to trim the foams in the Pit Bulls to really work properly with the OMF's. Without trimming them, they looked like they were giant balloons. Still have the Curries to put together as well as the Ti links and steering. I ordered a second hardware pack for the wheels. Still can't believe that I only ordered one package... Right now I am trying to decide on a power combo as well as a winch. Here are a few pics I took tonight after I got ONE wheel and tire together lol Here you can see the difference that the 600 hubs make. |

I have problems getting my omf's to fit on the pitbulls with the soft sidewalls. Beads don't stay locked in?

I was having the same issues. I trimmed the stock foams pretty good. I ordered a set of CI foams today. Will see how that works.

Well got the front axle assembled. Need to adjust the alignment...that is why no locknuts yet. I am mounting the second omf/pit bull now. |
