IMO it's a good use of the product because once coated you won't be handling the components much

Literally there is nothing to "dry" because when you lift the components out of the water it's like they never touched the water so no water droplets are left over. Hence the name "neverwet". It's cool because when the components are under water ther is a thin air bubble on all surfaces.
I'll be doing some more filming doing on my Wroncho , I'll make an instructional video.

Is it sticky?

Try to test it outside. This film can be irresistible to dust/water.

A couple of engineers where I work tried it on some laptops, apparently it breaks down after a couple of hours under water. It would be interesting to see how long it was effective for our application.

I think for me it will work well. I'm not in wet areas often and just want splash protection. I wouldn't attempt to clean the truck with a power washer but a gentle hosing. I tested it on some cardboard and the stuff is pretty amazing!

To the other question about stickiness, it's not at all. It's more like fine grit sandpaper.


When I do my tutorial I will be using my gopro to show the electronics underwater, lol

I've had neverwet sitting on my bench for weeks now. I've been meaning to do something with it... I think it will hold up pretty darn well. It's not like it'll be submerged for hours. More like seconds at a time... I second the question about dust. That's a problem anyway. I'd be curious to see how well it cleans up after I get it good and dusty/dirty.

Probably a legal disclaimer, since they don't want to buy anyone's electronics. 8)

Yes, the instructions clearly state that the product should NOT be used on electronics. But, Neverwet has a promo video where they treat an Iphone, so be cautious. I was prepared to loose my servo, bec, esc and RX just to test it out. I really felt like it was no risk at all because of all the reading and research I did beforehand.
I just edited the descripition on my video stating that they don't reccomend the product for electronics.

Just a quick note: I did drill holes in the bottom of my RX, ESC and electronics box cases to allow water to flow through. I didn't want water collecting like a dish pan.

so this NeverWet stuff is like an advanced version of Scotchgard? how does it feel when dry? does it attract dirt/dust like crazy or does it somewhat repel that too since it's silicone based?

The first coat is mildly sticky at first but dries to non sticky, much like a primer. The topcoat once applied feels exactly like sandpaper. It won't attract dirt at all because it isn't sticky

You'd get some nasty fumes from the stuff burning I'd bet, and a contaminated surface. You can remove the neverwet by (from the instructions) "first sanding then wiping the treated object with Xylol or mineral spirits"

Did it spark when you touched the esc right at 1:19? Looks like the black motor wire arcs when you moved the esc.

No problem man, I just posted another video, not running, but an after run video. I took a long lunch and went back to the creek and fully submerged all the electronics. Everything is still working great as I though it would. I was quite skeptical of the product and I agree that it's not the end-all of waterproofing but another arrow in our quiver. This is my first truck I've attempted waterproofing. On thing I will say is that this method will allow your electronics better air flow.
