Default bruiser/scx10

ok so here i go

ive searched the web for hours looking for a way to take the toyota bruisers tires and use them on a scx10 ive seen people take the bruisers axle and make them use 12mm but i dont want that im gonna be buying a scx10 soon and want to really use those tires however i cant find out what hex size the bruisers tires are or if there is a wheel that will fit the bruisers that can mount on 12mm without having to buy conversion parts or if there is a conversion to go from 12mm to whatever size the bruisers are

thank you in advance and i hope i get the answers im looking for maybe with pics

Wheels

Bruiser/Mountaineers do not use your typical 12mm hex wheel like many other RCs. The wheels on these trucks are specific the hubs on the axles.

Bruiser wheels, are a 3pc bead lock design. They use 2 rim halves, and have two inner lock rings. These are not so easily narrowed, I recommend David at Xtreme RC hobbies Xtreme-rc-hobbies.net: The Leading Xtreme RC Hobby Site on the Net

Mountaineer wheels, are a 1pc design, have a cool center cap and are highly desired for these trucks. Be prepared to drop serious coin if you are going buy a set, they will run you close to the cost of an aluminum wheel. The are easily narrowed by cutting the front and rear beads off of them.

Fitting 12mm wheels on Bruiser axles
Is now possible though NickRummy, he offers a rear axle machining service:

as well as front C which utilizes TLT half shafts and hardware
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...hlight=bruiser
Nicks parts and service will also give you Equal track width He also sells adapters to convert front axles into rear axles

Rc4wd also sells 12mm adapters http://rc4wdstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=82 , however these make for a very stance

ires

The Bruiser/Mountaineer shared the same tires as the black foot. They are hard and not very good for rock crawling. Any 2.2 will fit on these trucks, weather they are from pro -line, imex, or someone elses.

so is it possible to take the 2.2 bruiser tires and use a different 2.2 wheel and have that wheel fit a 12mm on a scx10 since the tire is 2.2

I would think so. Because they say any 2.2 tire will fit the bruiser, so I would say the bruiser tires will work on any 2.2 wheel.

well after reading for hours on the web i found out that the the bruiser 2.2 tires needs a 1.7 width rim and most 2.2 rims that fit a 12mm hex are 1.5 to 2 in width so i would think a few little millimeters wouldnt make any difference in mounting on the bruisers

Easleycrawler your links are bad and info is waaaay outdated, 2 of your listed vendors do not exist on here anymore.

I'll try and mount some Bruiser tires on some modern 2.2 rims and I'll let you know the results.

I was just trying to help a newbie out. I got the info from the bruiser section, and just copied and pasted it. Oh well.
