Default Jeep Rubicon jk battery placement

Hello all again, I'm working on my Jeep jk as well. I just got in my holmes hobbies br-xl water proof speedo. Just waiting on my AX2 2speed and other goodies. I plan on using this jeep as a trail truck maybe climb things on the trail. I would like to know wheres the best battery placement? Front....rear??? I'm just trying to find the best balance between battery and electronics locations. Also whats the best way to waterproof a LIPO? Let me know. Thanks! I'll try to get pics on here as soon as parts all come in.

Battery placement is all on you, how you want the rig to be and all that, right now I have my battery up front with the trans in the center, I'm thinking about trying to make the trans mount up front and run to a t case with the battery sitting on top of it, as for waterproofing a Lipo, if its a hard case all you have to do is silicone the holes the wires come out of

Yes the AX2 2speed will be in the center and I did cut down the posts for the front battery mount, to lower the cog in the front. All my electronics are waterproof spektrum receiver, esc, and waterproofed my servo with plastidip. As far as a LIPO goes I was looking at running 3s soft pack. Is this advisable. Thanks!

Put it here. Or make your own plate. I run another battery on the opposite side to power my wireless winch controller.

A soft pack should be alright, I wanted to run a hard pack because I'm paranoid about puncturing it and watching my truck burst into flames, as far as MAH rating goes, I went a little over kill.. I'm running a 2s duratrax onyx 5000MAH, there have been days that I've run for a good 4 hours on a single pack

Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture but this is how I have mine.

I did have it mounted directly between the shocks hanging over the servo like most i have seen, but it was kinda pressing up on my hood and a little too front end heavy for my liking. I just took a piece of scrap aluminum I had in my shop and cut up a plate for it. Hard to see but its angled slightly down towards the drive shaft, but there is plenty of clearance and its solid.

Quick, dirty, and ugly but it does the job well.

Cheers,
Dick
