I have a fuze 17.5 sensored setup in one and it's got great torque and good wheel speed for steep hills, never over heats, I also run a fxr & tekin pro 35t and it's great for crawling.

best brushed motor ever: Holmes Hobbies 14t Puller on 6s.

that being said, I now run Pro4's in my Class 2 and Class 3 rigs.

Because it says JEEP on it. They want their money

RPP has the dingo kit for $229 right now. I dont know if it is still at that price but they were discounting all Axial models.

I'm running 3 BRXL's in my SCX10's. Two have 35T motors and one has a 45 turn. All three are under driven with stock gearing up front. All run a 12 tooth pinion.

They were just doing a sale to push stuff out. RPP had everything $20 to $40 off on anything that was an Axial RC.

i have ran a few set ups, brushed and brushless. as of now #1, my truck has a new MMP and novak 18.5 crawler motor..i love this set up. # 2 is ae-2 esc and Venom 55t motor, very smoth but no wheel speed, this is my 6 yr old girls truck. #3 my wifes is a Timbuk2 and novak 18.5. this set up is ok, lots of top end. there are advantages and disadvantages to most set ups. i will run the roc412 with my MMP soon.

I don't do comps much....sonme and the guys I do trail runs with just run 27-35t rc4wd/axial or even the tamyia silver can motors.....they're $10 they last about 6 months of dirt/mud and water (rinse em out of course).....so when they throw a brush who cares ya bolt another one in.....its not worth if for us to spend big money...and castle sv3 is the best esc so far all the others talked about here are re branded castles anyway for about double the price

Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster Sport at $12 I bought a couple! With a BR-XL (WP) on 3S with stock gearing, fun on the trails, in the creeks and does pretty good crawling!

Best setup i've had has been the losi msc12L esc and a 12 volt skill drill motor with 20 tooth pinion. This setup freakin rips on 2s. Best of both worlds. Torque is through the roof and i was really surprised at how fast it is. My favorite thing about this system is that you can change from NiMh to LiPo with a push of the button.
Warning: Do not lock your slipper clutch! Destruction of drive-line parts is certain!

I'm really liking the Brood Stump Humper 550 paired to a Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster BR-XL WaterProof.

Ive currently got 4 running scx based rigs and all are running brushed 45t motors with either the og mamba max or tekin fxr esc's, all on 3s and gearing from 14/87 to 16/87. U/D rear gears, regular front gearing. I prefer the mamba max for its precise control, the fxrs dont have as good a feel IMO. Ive tried sensored BL and in a 1.9 based rig its just not for me.

this is a to eaches own but I really think the 27t stock motor is amazing power wise...So for me a rebuildable 27t is what is going on my rig next.
The best 27t you can build will be to get a modified motor and put a 27t armature in it then tune it for max torque by adjusting the timing.
I also like the stock ESC with a 2s lipo..great low throttle power in my opinion..Too much power will cause you to start breaking things and bending
axles..Keep it modest and youll have tons of fun for a long period of time with out it becoming a money pit.

My motor :

Trinity p2k 27t armature
Orion Can and endbell with adjustable timing end bell.

Most all 27t motors have a fixed end bell using 24 degrees of timing....these are general roar legal motors for stock classes.
The timing is generally set for torque and top end..(some place in the middle)

By getting a mod motor can and end bell you can play with the timing to maximize it for what your purpose is.

In our case we look for torque in general and can get a lot more being able to adjust timing.

I will have somewhere around 20 degrees of timing giving me more torque than speed and it should be considerably
stronger than the stock 27t axial motor.
