| help with shocks prolines vs gmade
I have a light honco with the battery up front and I'm looking for a better performing shock. I'm not worried about scale look but I don't. Wanna jack my truck up as I do a lot of side hilling . So I'm looking at the pro line power strokes or g made transitions and wanted to know what people thought of these. I want performance and no leaking

I'm using these and have no leaks. I went to a little softer spring. Junfac Gmade XD Diaphragm Shock 93mm.

What do you mean by "better performing" specifically? Just not leaking? Or just no leaks and you're itchin' to buy some bling? The prolines are great shocks and maintain a scale look. If you want to save a few bucks, rebuild your stock SCX10 shocks and use some team associated Green Slime and then you can tune the oil and spring rate for very little money (different oil and Axial sells a good selections of springs for the SCX10 shocks.) So if you need damping that is more in line with your driving style, with no leaks, it's available inexpensively. That said, we're geeks and love shiny stuff Be aware though, that you may still need to tune the Gmades or Prolines for the weight of your rig and driving style. If you confuse "I need" with "I want" you many still have a poorly damped rig after dropping $65. Either way, you've got plenty of choices |

I got Gmade aeration shocks and they seem really good. No leaks. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4 |

I have the gmade piggy back shocks and they're great because you can set the suspension to a linear or progressive shock stroke. Progressive would be great for sidehilling. The gmade shock bodies are a much wider diameter as well. Usually the bigger the shock body, the more control you have over ride characteristics. Mine haven't leaked a drop and they're smooth like butter! I have the 93 mm shocks on my wroncho I wouldn't go 103mm |

I have the 103mm piggy backs and no real issues and ride height isn't super high. I do wonder if mine are leaking. Every now and then, they seem wet but I drive through dry and wet areas. If I had to do it again, I would consider the power strokes.

I'm just looking for a shock that is extremely smooth and that durable. My stock ones are from the scx10 Rubicon but I would like to know more about the new pistons from axial of anyone has info. And of course I want some bling but that's not the only reason I was gonna replace them . I have 3 leaking and I broke a cap and bent a shaft last time out

The Aluminum bodied Icon shocks that come with the Rubicon Kit have machined pistons. The Stock shocks can be buttery when rebuilt right.

I got the proline shocks... really nice shocks. I needed to buy shocks as the set that came in my bucket o parts were roughly 5" long and stiffer then any shock I've seen. was like driving with links inplace of the shocks. they also bound up the links with the frame rails they were so long. prolines cost alittle more then I wanted to spend but as I was already putting out money for shocks anyways I figured alittle extra for nice ones with alittle bling would not be wrong. |

I have the GMades on my Wraith and they look cool, but the adjustable damping is pretty gimmicky. They are really smooth and about the right size for a Wraith, but I think they are much to big to be a good scaler shock. The Axial aluminum bodied shocks with their machined pistons are awesome, all of them. I don't have my Icons yet, but I have upgraded the shocks on my EXO and they are super smooth and do not leak a drop. |
