Default Shock tower/body mount alternative

So had my traxxas parts bag out with the Dingo and happened to notice the RPM shock tower for the Stampede 4x4 fits perfectly between the frame rails of the truck. You have to put it in at an angle to get around the c channels it is such a precise fit. So thinking about swapping the stock out.

Pro's
-better stability for the body mounts and shocks
-better shock clearance
-much easier to replace at lhs, at least at this point
-more durable in rollovers (Still too many for my liking)
-higher shock mount, which in my case will allow me to remove the internal limiters currently in the big bores
-better mounting options/variations for different bodies.

Cons
-more weight higher up on the truck
-(Help a guy out and offer others if the come to mind)

I think it is going to require some modification of the frame braces so thinking it through before I jump and regret it.

Default Re: Shock tower/body mount alternative

My brother in law did that on one of his rigs, and the body mount kept moving since there was only 1 screw holding it down on each side. It became a pain in the butt so he removed em and made custom body mounts out of steel and welded them in place
