I'm back!! After selling off my Dingo to get a Wraith, I started looking back and thinking over how much fun these SCX10s are to drive and decided to go with what I know, an SCX10. This build is a little different than my last because I'm using an RTR Honcho to build off of. My goal for this build is to make a very capable rig by only purchasing and using upgrade parts I believe are truly necessary. That being said, here is my first group of parts including the truck. A TR Honcho, Deans plugs, and Axial 1.9 8-Hole Beadlocks. Next on the agenda-RC4WD links for the steering and lowers.

Sounds like a fun time! I am looking to sell my Honcho to work on my Wraith.

Here is a quick picture of the truck with Axial 1.9 8-hole Beadlocks installed. I'll be ordering RC4WD links this week to convert the lowers and steering to aluminum.

I bought the same 1.9's for my F-250 Honcho as well! I might order a different set of rings to change the style on both my Wraith and SCX10.

Nice looking rig, JetBlast! The Dingo I had before had rings from MTHead on them and they looked great in my opinion. Also, what shocks are those?

Those are my GMade piggyback shocks. They work great on the SCX. I recently removed them and tossed them on my Wraith project. Right now, I am running stock shocks and I replaced the plastic bumper with a metal RC4WD bumper with a winch.

First day on the trails at Flat Rock Park with this rig. It drives great and I noticed the increased stability given by its longer wheelbase compared to the Dingo. The only problem I had was steering link flex. Just a few pictures were taken today so here they are.

Deans and beadlocks along with some R35 Ripsaws were my first upgrades as well:

Followed by links and a handful of other things:

I'm not done yet, but starting over sounds like fun.

1fox2go, I'll be investing in some Vanquish shock hoops after I get the links. I also went ahead and ordered RC4WD XVDs. After that, I'll upgrade as I see or find necessary.

forty2, that's a good looking rig you have. I like to keep things simple like that. I'm debating between ordering the PL F-250 or another Honcho body. The stock tires are very good in my opinion and I'm sure the softer compound makes them even better. I also really like Axial's beadlocks because their design goes with pretty much everything and there's only a few screws compared to other beadlocks.

Well the AX-3 and RX-3 will be on their way back to Axial. There is quite a glitch between the receiver and transmitter that makes it seem as though the trigger is getting "stuck". So what happens is the truck will not respond to my throttle inputs some of the time then all of a sudden it will start rolling. The other thing that happens is the truck will continue to roll after I've released the trigger. I've recalibrated the esc many times to no avail. I installed my airplane's radio equipment and the issue has gone away.

That sucks man. Hopefully your experience with their customer support is as good as mine was.

the problem you were having is more than likely with your radio. I was having the same problem with my wraith.

I got a little time to run the trails at Flat Rock Park between school and work today. Last night I got impatient and went ahead and made a stainless steering link until my RC4WD links arrive. Also, a new AX-3 and RX-3 are on their way to me from Axial. Anyways, here are the pictures from today's solo run.

The RC4WD aluminum links I ordered came in today. I got two 98mm links for the front lower links and two 106mm links for the rear lower links. They arrived a day earlier than expected.

Also did another solo trail run today before work.

It really is a very nice place to drive. We've got a great mix of rocks and trails at Flat Rock Park. Thanks for the compliments on the rig! Being bit by the upgrade bug is definitely an understatement. So far I've decided to order more RC4WD links to convert all the links to aluminum, Vanquish shock hoops, and Axial aluminum shocks. Junfac or RC4WD Punisher driveshafts, Robinson Racing transmission internals, and a Vanquish transmission case will be ordered for the driveline.

My new AX-3 and RX-3 came in yesterday and it is working flawlessly. +1 to Axial's customer service. Also got a good run in with my buddy, Deadpool. Here are the pictures.
