Default BOOSTED's G6eep build

Now that Nationals are over, I decided to build another scaler, this one will more than likely fall into the class 2 area and be my g6 rig at the same time.

I started with the scx10 wrangler kit, we all know what the box looks like, and the general build up so ill save you from those pics.
I built the truck bone stock per the instructions and will be upgrading as I go.

First think I switched out were the Icon shocks with proline scale shocks. The icons are great and super smooth, and more than likely will end up on my comp rig to replace the plastic scx shocks.
Also in this pic you'll notice the body post, I hate body clips, so I took the posts and trimmed of the nipple and sanded them smooth, then drilled a 2mm hole down the center so I could use 3mm hardware to mount the body

I won this 27t holmes torquemaster at nats and decided to use it at a starting point in this build

Decided to stick with white for this truck, I also taped off all the hinges and hit those with spray in plasti-dip and well as the roof section.

I picked up some led light bars from my buddy mark (Crawlerdad). I got his 6 1/2" bar made for the jk and his 2" bar both v2. These 2 together total just under 400 lumens
To mount the 2" I used the small servo mounts from the kit. Drill through the front of the bar, and bam! Hood light. A small hole right behind the bar and routed the wires through the hood.

To do the big bar I took the wire loom/clip pieces and trimmed off the back part like so

Then lined em up and drilled to 1/16" holes to mount to the cage, and drilled 2mm holes in the end of the light bar and used pan screws to secure the bar.
Then a hole in the corner of the windshield and one in the corner of the dashboard to route the wires between the windshield and cage to keep it clean.

These lights are wicked bright! They're set to run at 11.1v(3s) and I plan on grabbing a couple more for this build. If you want some quality, water RESISTANT lights and a killer price hit up Crawlerdad he'll get you squared away
I turned out all the lights in the house and shot these

There are going to be ALOT of changes coming to this rig in the next few weeks and I will be updating this thread frequently

Thanks E. I was going to make some aluminum mounts, but figured I'd try these and it worked out well. The white actually came out better than expected.

I did buy those, I havent used them yet. I been trying to think of the clean way of wiring all the lights I want to add to jk, to run off either main battery or small 3s pack.

Headlights
Rock lights
Tail lights
6" light bar

Post up the blue monkey cms kit. I been looking getting it.

Hell yeah that's gonna be bright. I'm going to be adding lights in my sliders, like dean(chino) and I've been contemplating grabbing an exo rear light bar and seeing how much trimming it would take to mount. If it looks like complete ass, then ill dump it and go with tails and a 2in right under the spare on the recessed part of the bumper.

As far as wiring I usually tie them all into a balance plug then plug them into the battery. I've also used that method with a small hidden push button toggle and it worked well.

Nice light bar mount. Going to have to steal that idea. My mounts just failed when I rolled my wraith down a hillside. You planning to sipe those tires?

Great idea for the Light mount! Also digging the plasti dip on the hinges makes them look a Lil more 3D. Thanks for sharing.
