Default Motor glitch after dipped in water!! Why?

So I went on a trail run and after I ran through a puddle the motor started making a Arcing sound and then it stopped moving, went home used some electric cleaner and it came back to life. What could of caused it and I thought all motors where waterproof, my friend ran through the same water and nothing happened

What kind of motor are you running? Brushed motors will run ok in water but dirt and debris can cause what you described. Brushless motors you can dip the sensor board in corrosion x and it'll run typically with no issues. But motors aren't water proof.....

The clearance inside of a motor is pretty small, so you could have sucked in a peice of sediment that stopped te motor, once you cleaned it out it was fine.
