Thanks Eddie. I would like to get out more often. Once I figure out this elder care arrangements, I should be able to get out at least once a month. I hope.

Thank you.

I ordered a VP Poison Spyder JK LED light bar mount because I didn't have enough clearance with the standard light bar mounts. I didn't feel like taking a Dremel to the cage.

I chromed the VP light bar while I wait for my part. I like VP's light bar because it's made out of aluminum and that gives one more options.

I have an update. I got a lot of work done last night. I needed to step up my build because Saturday I'm going to San Luis Obispo for the day. I'm looking forward to stopping at F. McLintocks Saloon & Dining House just north of Pismo Beach for some beef.

Anyways, I started by powder coating my light bar mounts. Here's a before and after comparison.

Before:

After:

Here's the way it looks with the light bar mounts installed.

Light bar installed. After installing the light bar, I marked where I wanted to run the wires and install the grommets. Then I had to uninstall the light bar.

Here's a close up.

A few more photos.

Top view:

I installed a grommet. I used six different drill size bits. Starting with the smallest and working my way up. Before drilling I cover the place where I want to drill with blue masking tape.

I installed the top grommet and partially installed the zip ties. Once I have everything set in place I could tighten up the zip ties.

Here a photo of the top grommet and the zip ties tightened.

This is how it looks with the zip ties tightened up.

Here's the way it looks from the front view.

And here's the light bar installed.

I like the reflection of the light bar on the hood. Cool!

Now that I have my body lights and light bar installed, I can wire my light controller.

To be continued ...

I installed my light controller last night.

The black connector (top right) is for my HV lights The red connector is for the LV (body) lights. I'll wire the power lines once I get my winch controller. The blue masking tape is used to keep everything together while I work on the wiring and to see how every thing fits.

This is what I have so far.

The controller fits nicely inside the Traxxas Rx box.

Love the fab work. I think I may need to get into brazing.

Late last night I finished my soldering. As far as the electronics go, all that's left is to tidy things up a bit. Maybe with zip ties. Add some more silicone here and there and install the Rx box covers.

I soldered the winch wires directly rather than using connectors. I figure I can always add a connector later if necessary.

I used shrink tubing on each wire followed by a large piece of shrink tubing for both wires. It looks neat. Sorry no picture because it was getting late. Then I put some double sided tape and stuck the wires on the backside of the frame.

Alright! I made more progress last night. Finished up the electronics, so that's one big milestone.

I added a couple of zip ties and was ready to seal the Traxxas Rx box when I thought it would be a good idea to test my winch. It worked beautifully. I just had to reverse the servo setting so when I slide the switch away from me the line goes out and when I slide the switch towards me the lines goes in. I find it easier to remember which way the lines goes when I set it up this way.

So here it is before closing the box. The light controller is on the right side and the winch controller sits on the top.

And here it is all sealed up.

Top view. I set up the ESC settings before closing up the Axial Rx box.

I added silicone on the cover and around the wires and then installed the cover.

Top view.

Side view of the steering and winch wires. I used small pieces of double sided tape on a couple of spots and zip ties to hold the wires in place.

I've had a couple of set backs. I didn't like the way the rock sliders looked so I raised them about 5mm. I had to make to new mounting plates. I'll try them out this way since the rock sliders that I have been looking at are out of stock.

The rock sliders sit a lot closer to the body now which is what I wanted.

I also added more backing and took some pictures.

Still bleeding through the hood with the additional backer, but that's the way it's going to be.

I'm taking City Slicker to KOH. I'm going to use City Slicker as my backup rig. I'll take some pictures on Saturday.

Love the JK man, nice build. The color is sweet with the chrome. The name fits it!
I need to put lights on mine and finish up three wraith's and my wife is about to pull the trigger on a G6 (that she is building). I have a lot of work cut out for me.
