Default SCX10 Weight

What is the weight of y'all's scx10 rigs. I'm just trying to get an idea. I just put some steel wheels on mine and it seems heavy. I guess this could be good; I see lots of people adding weight to their wheels. Those rims I'm using weigh about 4oz each. So I added a little over a pound considering I also changed the spare. I wouldn't think a pound would be much, but it seems like a huge difference just by feel. I guess I'm just a little worried about rotating mass and unsprung weight. I'm running stock electronics.

Mine weighs around 10lb. Both of my friend's SCX10s weigh over 13. All of ours have a lot of custom metal work though. Stock mine was like 5.5

Mine is around 5.5 pounds with no wheel weights and plastic wheels. My body is fairly heavy. My suspension is slammed and riding just off the bump stops normally. I run a mostly droop setup.

Mine is far from stock but I have been using carbon fiber in a few places.

What type motors and esc's are y'all running?
Mine is about 7lbs right now. Guess ill see how my stock stuff handles it. Funny thing is, I was doing some mud riding this weekend and when I'd pick it up it felt crazy heavy from my water logged foams. Now it feels like it weighs that much dry.

Mine is 6.5lbs. Fxr, Speed gem 35t & 3s lipo. Are yur tires full of water and left over mud? That could be part of the "feeling heavier" issue?
I know when I hit water my rig is heavier until I pull the foams an ring em out.

I know what you mean and have experienced that. But it's bone dry right now. From what you guys are saying, it's not anything to worry about.

I'd prefer a "heavier" rig just because it acts more like a 1:1 and more weight over the tires for traction. A little extra weight in the right places never hurt.

My most built rig is over 10 lbs, it has aluminum wheels + weights, steel bumper and sliders, big battery tray, metal gears, beef tubes, alumn shocks and a few other parts. I call her porky.

How would you figure what the 1:1 weight of these scale rigs would be. Just wondering what weight would be appropriate in a scale sense.

1/10th of the weight of a 1:1. However having a 400lb+ RC isn't practical haha.

My H2 weighs around 7.5 lbs, with 3.75oz's on each wheel (stock 1.9 beadlocks). Currently running a Novak 55T can with a Trinity 35T armature, through an XL-5 and a 2s lipo.

My F-150 is around 5.5 lbs, with 3.75oz's in each wheel (stock 1.9 beadlocks)or 3oz's with 1.55 steel wheels. I'm running a 35T Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster Sport, a Holmes Hobbies BR-XL and a 2s lipo.

550 motor from a printer? What's that. Btw, I like how you mounted your gun. I've been trying to think of options for that.

Thanks dude, motor is nothing fancy. A 12v motor from a printer roller feeding system. Bags of torque, and it runs smooth at 8v. I had to remove one of the torque rings to fit it properly. But it had no real effect on the performance.

I'm sorry, but you're off by a couple orders of magnitude here.

1:10 is a one dimensional conversion. Apply this in three dimensions, and the model is actually only 1/1000th the size of a real vehicle--volumetrically speaking. If similar construction and material densities were possible, a model should weigh about 1/1000th of the original--5 lbs comes out about right. There are a lot of material substitutions in the composition of a model, however. If it were to have sheet-metal body construction, for example, it would turn out like foil (and would not survive rollovers, much like a real vehicle), so plastic is used instead.

I imagine differences in handling and suspension behavior as compared to a 1:1 could lie in the differences in weight proportioning between sprung and un-sprung weight as well as damping and spring-rate characteristics. This could explain why throwing some extra weight on them results in more desirable behavior for some people.

I should be under 7lbs with battery (2s), weighted wheels (1.9), and weight balanced front to rear. (for the Honcho)

Actually, it's 1/1000th. 1/10th in 3 dimensions.
