| Gmade portals into a scx10
anyone try this? any pics? axles pretty strong? looks like you would get a ton more clearance thanks

I was having the same idea myself, I'm building a mudbogger Rubicon and the more clearance the better.

I had a set in my scx10 with a newbright jk body a few years ago, you get a bit more clearance under the diff, but they are wider than the scx10 diff's and to keep the whole thing looking right I had to drop the suspension down which gave it almost no uptravel.

Try doing a search there was over 10 rig done with this.I also did this but try buying a set of rims to fit was a pain in the a--.

This has an scx front frame section in it and i had no problem with the install.

Nice but the gear reduction unit still is out in the open the rim should cover that up atleast.

My post was for the OP. For the wheels you will need to use internal beadlocks to clear portals. You run into problem of inner ring. |

Here is one I completed a few months ago. Pretty straightforward, watch pinion angle and use hardened steel drive shafts if your planning on brushless power. Feel free to ask any questions, I have a few build pics that may help. SCX10/R1 Hybrid goes BRONCO! |
