| Time for a new body
So after a losing battle at 100ft hill in the mud yesterday my stock honcho body basically pulled itself of the cage I've been wondering what bodies will work with the stock rear cage? I do not want the new proline ford, just wondering if there were any good options out there. Yes I've used the search function, but not coming up with anything. Just wondering what you guys have used or seen to get me going in the right direction. Thanks, DC |

You could just get a clod front or hilux front and mount the cage to it as well. All u really need to do is put a piece of styrene in the back of it and mount the cage.

you could reinforce where it pulled thru the body? a small sheet of styrene glued in place? I don;t know for sure how they attach but styrene is pretty thin.

I'm not a Ford fan... But really like Proline's '73 bronco bodies... available in two versions (both lexan) one is a hard top full bodied version... and the other is an open cab with cage insert addition... Prolly can't use the original Honcho Rr. cage... But the Proline '73 Bronco does fit the Honcho's 12.3" WB... and is nearer 8" in width. Well I can only confirm the WB on the hard top version. Haven't seen the other first person. I like my Tacoma body... but if it gets thrashed... I think the ProLine '73 Bronco body will be my next choice. I have a new complete Mojave/Hilux hardbody kit.... But I'm not sure I want to mount that up just yet. Purdy sure the Honcho's rear cage is too wide at the back of the Hilux cab. But I haven't verified that as of yet. |

The proline F250 superDuty cab fits the honcho..its made to replace the Toyota cab and still uses the stock rear cage..even has marks on the body where to drill for the mounting..(body and cage). That's going to be my next body for my set up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro-line-Pro...item48566e28d6 Last edited by 6sharky9; 10-17-2013 at 07:58 PM. |

thanks for the replies, the glue(e6000) worked perfect, but the cold weather will be the test for that. Still hunting for a body... On a side note after months of beating the piss out of this truck the only issues have been the cracked body spots and a cooked ae-2 which was done on purpose to justify a new one to the better half |

Couldn't go wrong with the Tamiya F350 hardbody cab.
