Default Moving battery ...what screws are these? (Axial instructions)

Hey all,

Just got my rubicon and want to move the battery.

I'm following these instructions from Axial:

Axial Racing - Battery Relocation – SCX10 Jeep RTR

But where can I get those self-tapping screws? The describe the length, but how would I go about finding them? (Diameter, thread pitch)

The instructions were great until they started referencing screws I didn't have!

Thanks for any help.

Greg

If you have a wraith you could spare one or another scx .pretty common screw.

Go to your local hardware store and get two 1 1/8 inch 4-40 tapered head screws and one 5/8 inch 4-40 tapered head screw..That should do just fine. shouldn't be more then a buck at the most $1.50.

I'd recommend looking at Lowes or HD...
but I would instead recommend a M3 (3mm dia.) of similar lengths.
At least then everything is still metric.
4-40 thread will require a different driver then all yer other screws.

Machined thread pitch... threads in with little effort.
And will likely hold stronger as well.

ummm... what happened to the original screws
that hold the battery plate at the front side !?

Thanks for the info...

As far as the screws,I have them (of course) but front mounting (by this method) requires longer screws and spacer....hence, the originals are no help.

didn't know that.

I often use Traxxas mfgr'd 3mm machine screws...
good assortment of different lengths, fair in quality.
higher quantities per package and lower in cost then others

There's also Dubro hardware

I have replaced every wood looking screw with M3 (3mm) machine thread screws.

Still... I've been eyeballing one of those metric S.S. screw kits on 'da bid aye
