Default trying to decide on bumpers

Wanting to get bumpers for my scx10. Currently running an 80s chevy truck body from proline and im kinda hung up on where to go. It has dingo bumpers now and I like that style look but need something stronger than that flimsy plastic. The closest ive seen to those is the rcrockarmor ones but im pretty hard on my rig and can see me gouging the aluminum pretty quick on full throttle rock impacts. Im kinda torn between the tough armor ones but the jk rampage one doesn't seem like it would look good on the chevy body even though I really like the look of it. Other possibility is the tough armor winch bumper that's a prerunner style, only thing is I cant find a pic of it mounted on a body like mine and am afraid it sits too low.

Ive been scowering this forum and others and google like crazy and cant make up my mind, making my own isn't an option, so any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Cody

I've got the rockarmor bumper. I took it off because it does sit too low and sticks out too far. I went with the RC4WD short bumpers for the SCX-10. I think they are called stubby bumpers. they also make a stinger.

X2 on the stubby! Just put mine back on once I figured out how to fit the 3R winch...

I really like the RC4WD stubby bumper, just enough without being too large or sticking out too far. If you want, it's easy shorten the mounts and drill a couple new holes so that it is really nice and tight against front of frame rails.

Here it is: http://store.rc4wd.com/Tough-Armor-S...10_p_2069.html

On my truck I used the Axial AX80039A optional bumper set and raised it up a bit (4 led's in there also) and for the rear I modified a Proline Ridgeline wide rear with led's- bucket and lenses from the SCX10 parts tree. The tires don't rub the bumpers.

id go with something plastic...Id much rather allow a bumper to bend and flex on a hard impact than one get gouged or get bent...I simply cut the sides of my honcho bumper to gain better approach on the rocks..

In that case go with the new Axial Jeep JK front bumper and mount (mount is different than old one and it comes with the bumper). You can lift the bumper like I did on my Honcho and you can drill new holes and move it back too...plus you can trim it narrower or whatever with a Dremel! I have a couple of them and am going to chop one up soon, but steel like the RC4WD bumper slides over rocks better than the plastic bumpers...but they slide better than aluminum.

Thanks for the input guys! Definitely gonna consider the stubby ones, still offers protection where I need it while opening up a ton of area so I can go up steep approaches and clear more rocks and junk, and will go along a lot better when I finally start making this thing into a truggy.

Thanks Natedog. Bully on the Jeep and 3Racing on the Honcho. Both operated by rc4wd wireless controllers.

X3 on the rc4wd stubby bumpers, after trying many different bumper combinations the stubby versions are the only things I would buy. They are super strong and give you plenty of adjustment and give you lots of approach angle from the front and side angles.

Looks like the stubby bumper is out of stock. What about the mattzilla bumper that looks almost the same? Anyone tried it?

Those I would say are the best plastic bumpers you can get. The price is not bad either. I hear the fake fairlead falls off of them tho.
