Just built my own Aluminium Links Hey guys, just built my own Aluminium Links. Part used: Traxxas #1942 Rod Ends 4 mm threaded rod (Length 1 meter) 6 mm Aluminium Tube (1 meter) Just had to drill out the rod ends a litte to make the 4mm fit. Re: Just built my own Aluminium Links Doing the same thing myself. I found TRX-5347 to be a direct match for M4/4mm. It's the revo rod ends, should be pretty strong as such. Your alu tubes looks nice. I got some 5mm with ID of 4,1 perfect fit for the 4mm rod, but they aren't as pretty on the outside as yours. Most fun to go custom :) |
Looking good.. +1 on the Revo rod ends #5347.. I use 4mm threaded rod and 1/4" steel brake line to make my links.. They're super strong and slide nice on the rocks Sent from my highly abused iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Just built my own Aluminium Links Good job...I used the bigger 5347 traxxas ends also with 8-32 all thread and 1/4" tubing....Watch for the front lower steering link to hit the front axle housing though if you make steering links...can take away from your turning radius. Im getting a different link for the front so I can get my steering back...lol |
Re: Just built my own Aluminium Links How are your drive shaft angles? They look kind of steep or is it my eyes? I have a problem with the used Wrangler I bought. It came with fancy links but the front lowers are way too long. I can't exactly shorten the 1/4" SS myself so I was thinking of trying my luck with the Axial Wraith kit aluminum pieces...I will have to make the revo ends fit....hmmmm not sounding fun here...lol. You don't "NEED" a BEC to use a stronger servo within reason. You NEED a BEC when your esc cant supply enough power to a super high torque servo to give it its "claimed" torque/speed specs. I use a servo with just 30 more oz./in. of torque over stock and can tell the difference between it and the stock servo...If you stay under or at the 200oz.in of torque range your esc should be enough to give it its claimed specs. A BEC will make any servo stronger in general but do you NEED one to improve your steering torque?..in my opinion you don't. If you had a heavy truck and ran big huge tires you would need one with any servo; then to top that off a few more upgrades in general like c hubs and steering knuckle and stronger axles yada yada yada...AKA "Money Pit" |
