Default what batteries do you run?

I have a few 4000 and 5000 lipos. I'm switching over to 3S. I was thinking about buying 3s 2200 lipos. Save some weight. Bit smaller. For trail rides I figured I could just make a y harness and put 2 packs together..any thoughts?

I have good luck with these Valuehobby lipos. I balance charge them 100% of the time and they usually last a year or so. They have alot of batteries but this is just one of their 2200 mah 3S.

Value Hobby R/C Hobby Store (Addison, Illinois): GForce Elite Series 40C 2200mAh 3S 11.1V LiPO (T Connector)

I run dual 3s Venom 20C 2100mah LiPo's (flight pak's)
^ saddle pak placement

I don't combine them...
and instead plug them in individually when used.
I suppose they could be combined if one wishes.

I also have/use Hobby People's 3s 30C 2200mah LiPo's (below)
I can't really tell any difference performance wise...
But they cost less then the Venom brand and claim a slightly higher rating.
I paid $ 17. for each Venom LiPo's and the HP LiPo's were cheaper at $ 15. ea.

edit:

Oh and the Venom LiPo's come with adapters that fit several different plug styles...
^ I use the Dean's plug adapters.

The Hobby People LiPo's come pre-wired with the Dean's plug ends.

Either 2s5000 or 2s4000 hardcases from Hobbypartz. I usually get about 1.5 hours of runtime on the 5000's, and a little less on the 4000. I never take the lipo past 3.8v per cell.

That's the same pack I listed just 30c. It should be fine unless you have a big powerful motor. For a couple bucks more you can get the 40c.

If you have a high amp draw motor it can. If your battery pack cannot keep up with the power the motor wants, you'll likely damage the pack or prematurely wear it out.

I usually get 40c's at Valuehobby, since the prices are decent. Like I said I have been buying their lipos for years and will continue to buy them. I know they are only going to last a year or so and I am fine with that.

think of it like this...

if you run a big block v8,you wouldn't want to run a geo tracker fuel pump on it..you'd want a fuel pump that can handle the demands of the engine.

big motor power draw = the need for a +C rating battery

ive used..
gens ace
nano tech
zippy packs
thunder power
max amps
akku
venom

the ones I still use..
gens ace
thunder power
nano tech/turnigy
zippy packs

I love my 2600Mah Hyperion battery that I use on my crawler, it's been absolutely perfect since day 1.
I just bought 2 2650Mah Sky Lipo batteries for my new Slash a week ago and they seem to be good too.
