Default Shock Oil Weight

I've tried searching but can't seem to find what I'm looking for on bone stock rigs. I'm running a stock RTR Honcho minus the bump stops and want to change my shock oil. What weight would you suggest for my stock rig? My terrain is mostly smaller rocks/tree roots, little mud/clay with steep inclines ect.. thanks for the help in advance.

Most will probably recommend 10WT oil or say don't run any oil at all as they do leak pretty badly with most stock shocks...I say fix the leak when they start leaking and run 10 to 15wt.oil to the top and bleed off so there is not pressure.

Yeah it had a small leak when I first opened it.. doesn't bother me too bad as of now. I'll trade for bigger ones later just gonna enjoy the truck as is for now. I was pulling my wheels alot on my first outing causing me to flip.. I think a longer and softer articulation will fix that if I'm not mistaken?

The stock shocks will work as designed; you just have to solve the leak on them

Just like you said.. hardly any oil in them only ran it once... I changed with Trinity 10wt seems a little stiff.. I'm not a pro at chainging oil yet so I probably left a little air in there.. ill bleed em if it doesn't soften up.

You want it full to the top like its supposed to be..If done correctly your shock shaft wont push out on its own after you compress it with your hand or try to suck in on its own after pulling the shaft down...It can move a very small amount and be close enough but id say no more than 1/16 of an inch in any direction; if that much even.

10wt isn't too much that it would make the shock stiff (if done properly with no air).
